The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington , met in regular session this
llth day of February, 1930 at 7:30 P. M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Mayor Bangerter
presiding.
ROLL CALL
Upon roll call there were present Mayor George Bangerter, City Clerk C. F. Christian, City
Attorney James W. B. Scott and Councilmen Harry W. Robbins, Clark Aldrich, W. B. Smith, R. E. Rich-
ards, William Lammers Sr. and Jacob Miller.
READING OF MINUTES
The minutes of the regular session of February 4th, 1930 were read and approved as read.
BILLS AND CLAIMS
Upon the unanimous consent of the Council the following bills were presented and read:
Upon the Current Expense Fund, to -wit:
Burroughs Adding Machine Company 1 Adding Machine $245.00
Upon the Olympic Gravity Water Fund, to -wit:
Pt. Townsend Southern Railroad Co. Freight charges $ 35.75
It was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the said bills
be allowed and that the Mayor and City Clerk execute warrants on the proper funds in payment of
{+ same. Upon roll call all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared
carried.

REPORTS OF OFFICERS
City Clerk:
The City Clerk reported the issuance of additional salary warrants For the month of Jan-
uary under date of February 5th, as follows:
Upon the Current Expense Fund, to -wit:

Upon the Olympic Gravity Water Fund, to -wit:

Meter Readings:
The City Engineer presented the report of the main line meter readings for the week ending
February 10th and same was ordered filed.
STANDING COMMITTEES
Finance and Claims:
The Committee on Finance and Claims presented the following written report, to -wit:

To the Honorable Mayor and City Council of the City of Port Townsend.
Gentlemen:
Your Committee, on Finance and Claims to whom was referred oils for the year beginning
Feb. 15, 1930, wouldrrespectfully report as follows: 17a have thoroughly examined all of the said
proposals and we recommend that the proposal of the Standard Oil Company be accepted.

Permission is requested to make repairs to the approach to the Terry Building at 919-921-
923 Washington Street, by bringingsidewalk up to level of the adjoining cement sidewalk, to tear
out the present approach to the entrances and to build steps instead of the said approach. All at

an estimated cost of $30.00.

From M. V. Peak for street vacation:
A petition for vacation of a portion of the street presented by M. V. Peck was read as
follows:
Port Townsend, 'Nash., February 10, 1930
:
To the Honorable Mayor and - City Council
Port Townsend, Wash.
Gentlemen:
I respectfully petition your honorable body to vacate that portion of McPherson Street in
the Eisenbeis Addition, lying between the northerly line of 4th Street and the southernly line of
Olympic Highway (State Road No. 9), a distance of approximately 120 feet.
I am the owner of all the abutting property on both sides of the street sought to be
vacated and the vacation of said portion of street will not inconvenience any other property owner
in the vicinity of the above mentioned•street.

REQUISITIONS
Engineer's Department:
Requisition for supplies for the Engineer's Department was presented and read, as follows:

It was moved by Councilman Bobbins and seconded by Councilman Smith that the requisition

NEW BUSINESS
Opening Bids for Water Street Improvements:
Pursuant to the order of the Council Mayor Bangerter now declared the opening of bids for

construction of the project known as "Water Street Improvements" to be in order, thereupon the City
Clerk opened bids which had been received in accordance with the specifications, as follows:
1. From Keating & Bade of Portland, Oregon with certified check for $1500.006 A probable
error was noted in this proposal but upon inquiry, the bidder was not present to reply.

2. From Seattle Water Main Construction Company together with certified check
for .3900.00. No time for completion was stated in this proposal. A supple-

mental statement containbd� the proposed time for completion.
