Gentlemen: Your:;Co:msittee, on Water and Drainagetowhom was referred the matter of Water Super- intendent's report for Month of December, 1929 would respectfully report as follows: We find same to be correct. 1% Lammers Sr. W. B. Smith Said reports were ordered filed. BUILDING PERMITS Application and building permit from H. E. Gleason was presented and read, as follows: Port Townsend, Washington February, 3, 1930 To the Honorable- Mayor and City Council Port Townsend, Wash. Gentlemen: - I desire to amend the application for building permit requested for repairing the building occupied by the Coast -Service Co.. to have same read that all new construction will consist wholly of metal and concrete, to comply with the City Ordinances. Respectfully submitted,, H. E. Gleason It was moved by Councilman Smith and seconded by Councilman Miller that the said permit be granted the work to be subject to the supervision of the building superintendent.U,pon roll call all five Councilmen pr-:sent voted in the favor thereof and motion was declared carried. COMMUNICATIONS From 0. R. Dinsmore, Highway Engineer: Communication from 0. R. Dinsmore, District Engineer of the Highway Department was presented and read, as follows: Honorable Mayor and City Council City of Port Townsend, Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: Slympia, Washington anuary 31, 1930 State Road No. 9 Port Townsend -Ludlow Rd. L-27 - In connection with the paving of State Road No. 9 from Tyler Street in Port Townsend to Ludlow Road, our plans have been prepared on the basis of having the Port Townsend and Puget Sound Railways tracks carried down the center of Water Street until after the tracks are crossed by State Road No. 9. The tracks as they exist at present do not lay in the center of the street. It is, therefore, requested that you take such action as is necessary in order to have the tracks placed in the center of the street, which I understand is in accordance with the franchise granted to the Railway Company. Customs and Postof£ioe Building were a4r; 4i presented by the custodian of the said building.for the City.to submit bids for water fbr'the ensuing fiscal year. It was moved by Councilman Smith and,eeoonded by; Councilman Miller that the ^` ' Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to enter into a contract for. furnishing water to. the Federal Building at the regular rates. Motion declared carried.,,-'` Jl Railroad TraciK on Water Street: S.: h' Reverting back to the communication from Mr. Dinsmore it was moved by Councilman Smith }r and seconded by Councilman Richards that the City Attorney be authorized and instructed to go to Seattle to confer with the Officers of the Port Townsend and Southern Railroad Company, relative to moving their tracks on Water Street as noted by Engineer Dinsmore. Upon roll call Councilmen Aldrich, Smith, Richards and Lammers .voted in the affirmative<>' - and Councilman Miller voted in the negative. Motion declared carried. It was moved by Councilman Miller and seconded by Councilman Smith that the said requisition be granted. Motion declared carried. ; For City gall, to -wit: �br, 6 Cords wood It was moved by Councilman Miller and seconded by Councilman Smith that the said requisition be granted and that the City Clerk be directed to advertise for bide for the said wood. Bids to be opened at the regular session of the Council on February 11, 1930. Motion declared carried. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS Resolution relative to Water Shed: A resolution was presented by W. J. Daly Jr as representative of the Chamber of Commere,c(which)wa's-+dkd'dw,fbVlbwsh:::; co.:nu+i coc:an; Resolution Whereas, there is now pending before the United States Senate, "A bill to provide'for the protection of watersheds within the National Forests which are the source of a municipal' water supply" and Whereas, It now appears to the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, that the passage of this bill is of the utmost importance to the present and future welfare of said city, Be it therefore reso ved that it is the sense of the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, that the said bill be enacted into law, and E
