A number of ciLizons being present, upon the invitation of the Mayor, and to gain their
views upon several questions, it wvus moved by Councilman I -each and seconded by Councilman Lammers
that the council recess to the call of the Mayor. Motion carried. Mayor Bangerter then expressed
the thanks of the mayor and council to the following citizens rdio were present:

City Engineer Sadlor was then called upon to describe the proposed rebuilding of theWaterDistributionDistribution System within the city, and an informal discussion followed. ISotion to adopt the loop
system described by the City Engineer, the Water Street leg of the loop to be built first, was put
to vote and declared carried. It was further declared to be the opinion of those present that the
council should raise funds upon allithe property of the city, be build the lines with the further
general taxes and without further raise of water rates.
COUNCIL RE -CONVENES
The council re -convened at 10:00 P. 67. and upon roll call there were present Mayor George
Bangerter, City Clerk C. F. Christian, City Attorney James W. B. Scott and Councilmen W. B. Smith,
Ylm. Lammers, Harry "j. Robbins Lind S. V. Peach.
Specifications for pipe on Water Street:
It was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Peach that the City Engineer
prepare plans and specifications for wator.pipos from the South side of Jefferson Street to �Vator
Street on Kearney StreetEast on IYater Street from Kearney Street to the ~Vest side of Tyler Street
and to connect with the present 10" main end it was determined by the city council to be part of the
betterments and extensions to the .water system under Bond Ordinance No. 947. Upon roll call, all
four councilmen present voted ir.,the affirmative, and motion was declared carried.
Sewer Plans and Specifications:
It was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Peach that the City Engineer
prepare Plans and Specifications for constructing connections to the sower from the center of Harri-
son Street: on IYater Street and along Water Street to approximately 30 ft. Wast of the NGt side of
Tyler Street on Water Street, and the cost of same, and present same at the next regular session of
the council. Upon roll call, ell four councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was
declared carried.
Paving Port Townsend Southern Railway:
It was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the City Clerk
be directed to write to the Port Townsend Southern Railway relative to paving the railroad tradk on
Yiater Street. Motion declared carried.
Advertise for Garba•e Contract:
It was moved by Councilman Smith and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the City Clerk be
instructed to advertise for bids for removal of garbage and rubbish for the ensuing year, bids to be
opened at the regular session of February 4th. Motion carried.
Advertise for Gasoline and Oil Contract:
It was moved by Councilman iammers and seconded by Councilman Smith that the City Clerk
ertise for bids for supplying the city with gasoline and oil for the ensuing year, bids to be
the first regular session in February. M tion carried.

The city council of the City of Port Townsend met in,regular session this 21st day of
January, 1930, at 7:30 P. M. in the council chambers of the city hall, Mayor George Bangerter pre-
siding.

City Treasurer:
The report of the city treasurer for the month of December, 1929, was presented, read

City Engineer:
The report of the'eity engineer shooing water used for the week ending January 20th,
1930, was read and ordered filed'.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES
Councilman Robbins stated that because of jury duty, Councilman Peach was unable to
present and requested that he be excused.

We greatly appreciate your sending the fire truck to our assistance when our cookhouse
burned down the evening of Jan. 8th.
If the wind had not been favorable for saving all other buildings we would surely have
needed all the fire equipment available.
We thank you very kindly for sending us help and feel relieved that the fire did not
turn out bad enough to Mave to use it.
