The city council of the .city of Port Townsend, "ashington, met in regular session this day of January, 1930 at 7:30 P. M. in the council chamber of the city Hall, Mayor Bangerger pres ROLL CALL Upon roll cull, there were present Mayor George Bangerter, !'ity Clerk t'. 1. Christian','�ity Attorney James W. B. Scott, and Councilmen W. G. Smith, 'Mm. Lammers, Harry W. Robbins, and 8. V. Peas Councilmen 4uenell, Miller and Aldrich boing absent. MINUTES APPRVED The minutes of the regular session of January 7th, 1930, were rend and approved as read. APPROVED BILLS AND CLAIMS The claim of Dr. F. J. Delaney for snlary as City Health Officer for the year 1929, in the amount of 4200.00, was presented and read. It was moved by Councilman Lwrmiers, and seconded by Councilman Smith that the elnim be allowed, and that the Mayor and city Clark execute n warrant upon the proper fund in payment of snme. Motion declared carried. REPORTS OF OFFICERS Citv Enr_incer: The city engineer presented a report shoving the flow of water through the National Paper Products Company's meter for the week ending Janliary 7th, 1930, and same was read and ordered filed. REPORTS OF STANDING CQI&ITTEES Councilman Smith of the special committee to examine the condition of fire hydrants roportec that they had found about fifteen of the hydrants to be frozen. l'he city Olork reported that water superintendent Green had stated to him that these hydrants had all been thawed out and put in working condition. BUILDING PERMITS Applications for building permits were presented, read and disposed of as follows: From P. H. Peterson, to -wit: Port Townsend, Wash., January 9, 1930 To the Honorable Mayor and Oity Uouncil, Port Townsend, Wash. Gentlemen: Permission is requested to orect a frame dwelling house on Lots 2 and 4, Block Y, Kuhns Ranch, at an estimated cost of 43000.00. ]respectfully submitted, P. H. Peterson It was moved by councilman Lammers and seconded by Councilman Poach that the permit be ranted. Motion declared carried. rom P. J. By referring to Mr. H. N. Simpson's letter dated t January 7th, 1930, with a copy to you, you will find our authority for billing you. We have instructed the City Transfer Uompany at Port Townsend to pick up the two re- maining couplings and hold for us at their warehouse. This matter of getting these Dresser Couplings straightened out has taken considerable time, and we trust that you can arrange with the Oity to favor us with a voucher promptly. Upon roll call, all four councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. He also took up the matter of financing same, and stated that the water main and connections could probably be r,or.structed with the money is remaining in the Constructior. Fund, together with whatever ruinwas accessory from the Olympic Gravity Water Fund; also, that for the expense of sewer connections, it maybe necessary to make an emergency appropriation from the Current Expense Fund.
