REQUISITIONS
Requisitions for supplies were presented, read and disposed of as follows:
For the Water Department, to -wit:
2 Shovels
600 feet 2 x 12 Cedar Lumber
2 dozen 3//4 Galvanized Sleeves
6 " " Nipples
3 Padlocks
300 City Water Department Bill Heads (to be printed)
25 lbs. Staples, 3/4"
It was moved by Councilman Lammers and seconded by Councilman Miller that the
requisition be -granted. Motion declared carried.
For the Street Department, to -wit:

1 M ft - 2" lumber for repairing sidewalk on Washington St. grade and the
terrace steps.
1 Key 30X spikes
It was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Miller that the
requisition be granted. Motion declared carried.
For the City Clerk, to -wit:
1 12 ft lamp cord extension and double socket.
1000 Current lixpense Vouchers
12 Rolls adding Machine paper.
It was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the re-
quisition be granted. Motion declared carried.
ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS
Emergency Ordinance:
This being the time set for a hearing and vote on the proposed 1mergency Ordinance
introduced at the preceding session and read in full for the first reading and entitled'WV ORDINANCE
of the City of Port Townsend -providing for the appropriation of money and determing the amount of
the same, itemizing and classifying the expenditure and declaring an emergency; the matter was now
taken up and the Clerk read the said proposed ordinance in full for the sedond reading. Mayor
Bangerter then asked if anyone desired to appear before the council either for or against the said
proposed ordinance, and no one appearing, it was moved by Councilman Lammers and seconded by Coun-
cilman Peach that the third reading of the said croposed prdinance be by title only. Upon roll call,
all five councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
The City Clerk thereupon read the said ordinance by title only for the tBird
reading.
Ordinance Passed:
It was thereupon moved by councilman Lammers and seconded by Councilman Peach that
said ordinance do now pass. Upon roll call, all five councilmen present voted in the affirmative
and motion was declared carried.
The following is a full, true and correct copy of said ordinance No. 988, as passed
by the city council December 17th, 1929, approved by the Mayor December 16tb, 1929, and published
in the Port Townsend Lender December 19th, 1929, to -wit:
ORDINANCE NO 988
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Townsend providing for the appropriation of money
and determining the amount of the same, itemizing and classifyint the expenditure and declaring an
emergency.
WHEREAS, it now spears to the City Council of the City of Port Townsend that it is
for the beat interests of said city and the people therof that a purchase of gravel for the city'a
streets be made at this time and which expenditure will require an appropriation of money not pro-
vided for in the budget for the year 1929, and whereas, such deficiency could not have been reason-
ably foreseen at the time of the making and adoption of the said budget, and whereas, an emergency
now exists for the expenditure of 4500.00 from the current expense fund of said city for the purpose
aforesaid, therefore;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TO WdSEND, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS;
Section 1 - That an emergency is hereby declared for the appropriation of the sum
of $500.00 as determined and hereinafter itemized and classified as follows:

STREET DEPARTMENT
Purchase of Gravel. . . . . . . . . . $500.00
Section 2 - That the above sum is hereby appropriated for such purpose and emergency war-
rants upon the Current Expense Fund are hereby authorized to be drawn for said purpose.
Section 3 - That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader, to take
effect and be in force five days from and after such publication.
Passed by the City Council December 17th, 1929.
Approved by the Mayor December 18th, 1929.

RESOLUTIONS:
Transfers:
It appearing that several items in the Current Expense Budger have been exhausted, resolu-
tions to make certain transfers were presented, read and disposed of as follows:
For Street Department, to -wit: -
WHEREAS,; the amount appropriated for the item "Repairs and Replacements" in the
Street Department budget for 1929 having been exhausted and there being a surplus under the item of
"Lumber for Terrace steps" and both items being under the same classification,
NOW THEREFORE, Be it Resolved that the sum of $150.00 be transferred from the
item "Lumber for Terrace Steps to the item "Repairs and Replacements" and the City Clerk is hereby
authorized to make the said transfer on the records.
It was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the said resolu
tion be adopted. Upon roll call, all five councilmen voted in the affirmative and motion was declar
carried.
For Police Department, to-wtt:
WHEREAS, The amount appropriated for the item "Gasoline and Oils" in the Police
Department budget for the year 1929 having been exhausted and there being a surplus under the item
of "Board of Prisoners" and both items being under the same classification,
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it Resolved that the sum of $50.00 be transferred from the
item Meals for Prisoners to the item Gasoline and Oils and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to
make the said transfer on the records of the city.
It was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Miller that the said resolu-
tion be adopted. Upon roll call, all five councilmen present voted in favor thereof and motion was
declared carried.
RECESS
It was moved by Councilman Peach and seconded by Councilman Robbins that the council reees
for fifteen minutes. Motion carried and recess declared.
COUNCIL RE -CONVENES
Council re -convened at 9:30 P. Pd, and upon roll call, there were present Mayor George
Bangerter, City Clerk C. Fl Christian, City Attorney James W. B. Scott, Acting City Attorney W. J.
Daly, Jr., and councilmen S. V. Peach, W. B. Smith, William Lammers, Jacob Miller and Harry W. Robbi

r NOW, THEREFORE, Be it Resolved that the City of Port Townsend, Washington, tender the sum
of $1,000.00 to the County Treasurer of Jefferson County and request that it be issued a. deed to
said property, to -wit:
