Reservoir Fence: The following report, relative to the cost of a fence to inclose the reservoirs was presented and read, to -wit: December 17, 1929 To the Mayor and City Council Gentlemen: Pursuant to your instructions to secure prices on wire fencing for Reservoir #1 I have received the following and submit same to your honorable body for consideration. 1501 Rolls, 2" Mesh, -#16 Gauge $12.95 per roll This wire is the same as sold to Seattle Park Board, but I think is a little light for the reservoir fence. 2640 ft., 1211F gauge fram fence $90.40 Height 39" - 9 bars stays 12" centers, two sidths would have to be used to make fence 6'6" high. The spacing of bars and stays too wide, would permit small animals to get through. Cyclone fence 2" mesh, jJ9'.6auge 48" wide 36 per Lin. Ft. 60" wide 43g to to to 7211 II 5V 11 ,I it Barb wire 12- gauge, barbs 4" centers, $6.00 per 100I The above prices are F.O.B. Port Townsend. This would undoubtedly make the best fence but would cost about 4422.00 more than estimated for fence: This wire is heavier and will last longer and make a better looking fence. If you would care to substitute concrete posts, Mr. Deleo has informed me that he can make them for about 41.75 apiece. Awaiting your further instructions, Yours very truly, W. J. Sadler City Engineer This report was referred to the Water Committee.
