November 12, 1929
To the Mayor and City Council
Gentlemen:
I have just received a letter from mr. Lowenstein in regard to a connection for the
Hadlook-Irondale line at or near the Keymes Road which is as follows:
We have your letter of November 6, 1929,in which you inquiro as to whether a certain
change in the location of the connection of the Hadlock and Irondale pipe line with our pipe line
would meet with objection from us.
've call your attention to the Lease dated March 3, 1928, between the City of Port
Townsend and ourselves which provides that the City at its option may make one connection with said
water works system at a point outside the City Limits for the purpose of obtaining water to supply
Hadlock and Irondale.
As we have hereto informod you, we do not desire that additional connections be made
with our pipe line outside the City Limits, however, if you desire to substitute a new connection
for the present one we have no objection to your ddng so. We suggest that this be carried out under
written agreement and if you will have your attorney prepare an agreement covering the matter, we
will be pleased to submit it to our attorneys for their approval."
I also received a check for $6153.71 less $474.89 which has been deducted for labor
and material used in frost proofing the air valves on the pipe line.
