UNAPPROVED CLAIMS
Claim of Mrs. Maud Priest:
The bill of Mrs. Maud Priest, claiming a refund of money paid for water was presented,
read and referred to the water committee.
IRONDALE-HADLOCK WATER HEARING
A delegation from Irondale and Hadlook being present to take up the matter of water
shortage, were at this time invited to address the council. J. 6. McMahon, Harold Dollar, and otherf
than addressed the council, complaining, of lack of water in the Hadlock-Irondale line. City Engin-
eer Sadler,, when called upon, stated that when the paper mill opened their valve, the pressure on
the line was reduced and Irondale and Hadlock could not then get water. He stated that some relief
could be obtained by securing a new right-of-way around the hill and putting in about one thousand
feet of new'pipe. After a general discussion, Mayor Bangerter made a statement of the present situa-
tion and it was generally agreed that the only solution was.to secure estimates and put the matter
up to a company manufacturing pipe. It was then moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Uouncil.
man Miller that the City Engineer go over the line from the connection at the main line through
Irondale to Hadlock and make an accurate estimate of cost of construction of the line, and that the
Federal Pipe and lank `'ompany be requested to investigate the situation and present plans and pro-
posals. Motion declared carried.
New Location of connection:
The city attorney was instructed to look into the legal phases of the matter, and the
city engineer to take up the matter of a new location for the connection with the National Paper
rroducts company.
