Streets, and request for vacation is hereby made for Ash Street from the Southerly line of E. Street to Hastings Park, and E. Street from the Westerly lihe of Asti street to Hastings Park. It was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Peach that a hearing on the said petition be set for November 5, 1929, after an amended and corrected petition be filed. Motion carried. Street Grade Ordinance. In accordance with the report of city engineer Sadler, an ordinance e stabli shing '� street grades on a part of Taylor Street and entitled "AN ORDINANCE establishing street grades on certain streets in the City of Port Townsend, Washington, and repealing all ordinances and parts of Ordinan- ces in conflict herewith," was presented and read in full for the first reading. It was moved by Councilman Robbins that the first reading be considered the second reading and that the third readin, be by title only. Upon roll call, all five councilmen present voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried. The City Clerk read the said ordinance by title only for the third reading and it was moved by "ouncilman Robbins, seconded by Councilman Miller that said ordinance do now pass. Upon roll call, all five councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried The following is a full, true and correct copy of said ordinance No. 982, as passed by the City Council September 17, 1929, approved by the Mayor September 19, 1929 and published in the Port Towns Leader September 23, 1929, to -wit: ORDINANCE NO. 962. The city t6uncil of the City of Port Townsend, Washington do ordain as follows: Section 1. That the grade of the center line of Taylor Street at its intersection with the center line of Lincoln Street shall be at an elevation of 104.70 ft. above City datum. That the center line of Taylor Street and the intersection of the North line of Lincoln "troet shall be at an elevation of 104.33 ft. above City datum. That the center line of Taylor Street and the intersection of the South line of Garfield Street shall be at elevation of 102.50 ft. above City datum. That the center line of Taylor Street and the intersection of the North line of Garfield Street shall be at an elevation of 103.16 ft. above City datum. That the center lino of Taylor Street and the intersection of the South line of Blain Street shall be at an elevation of 113.14 ft. above City datum. That the center line of Taylor Street and the intersection of the North line of Blaine Street shall be at an elevation of 114.24 ft. above City datum. That the center line of Taylor Street and the intersection of the South line Roosevelt Street shall be at an elevation of 143.50 ft. above City datum. Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 3. That this Urdinanee be published once in the Port Townsend Leader and to W, effect and be in force five (5) days from and after such publication. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS Washington Street Sidewalk: The condition of the bulkhead and sidewalk on Washington Street came up for discussion and it was again roferrod to the Street Committee and. the City Engineer. Proposed Local Improvement District:_ It was moved by Councilman:Robbine and seconded by Councilman Lammers to •inatruct the City Attornoand City Engineer to prepare -the necessary data and papers. to create a general Local Improvement 4strict for rebuilding the pipe line from the city limits to the reservoirs and city distribution system. Upon roll call, all five councilmen voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. Mr. Durst Speaks: Upon the permission of the council, Mr. Durst spole of the condition of Filmore Street above Lawrence Street, and requested that some grading be done. The matter was referred to the City P' Engineer and Street Superintendent for action. Request of P. H. Paterson: Mr. P. H. Peterson, contractor on the new Siobenbaum building, requested the use;: of par ,p of Taylor Street during said construction. '4r. Peterson was advised as to the terms of the ordinanc covering such construction, and further advised that lie could not occupy the street in front of othe property without the consent of the occupants.
