be by title only. Upon roll call, all six councilman voted in the affirmative and motion was deolarel
carried,
Adoption of Ordinance:
Said ordinance was then read by title only for the third reading and it was moved by Coun-
cilman Robbins, seconded by Councilman Peach that the ordinance do now pass. Upon roll call, all
six councilmen present voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried. The following is a
full, true and correct copy of said ordinance No. 980 as passed by the city counoil August 20th,
1929, approved by the Mayor August 20th, 1929 and published in the Port Toxneend Leader August 22,
1929:

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF I ORT TOWNSEND do ordain as follows:
Section One - That -the, following named•parts of street a. in, the. Original„Town site of
the City of Port Townsend be and the, sam are..hi reby vacated, to -wit:
The parts_of-Franklisl'i Jefferson and Washington streets. between the east line of
Jackson and the outer harbor line;
The pert of Water street between the east line of Jackson street and the west line

Logssin City Lake:
Councilman Quenell stated that there were a number of floating logs in the city lake
reservoir that should be removed. No action was taken at this time.
Discussion Re: City Reservoir:
Councilman Quenell brought up t e matter of repairs to the city reservoir and reques
ad that estimates,planS and epeoifications be prepared. City Engineer Sadler being called upon,
stated that the first and urgent problem was t eomplete a supply line to the city reservoir and at
least a part of the mains in the city. He ale stated that the reservoirs in their present condi-
tion would serve the needs of the city until tl e supply line was completed, as the present urgent
need was to deliver water to the reservoir. T a council had a general discussion relative to
financing the building of the remainder of the pipe line and Mr. Daly, acting city attorney, ex-
plained the law governing the city in such eir umstances.
It was moved by councilman Quen ll and seconded by Councilman Robbins that the city
Clerk, acting City Attorney Daly, and the City Engineer, bring in a report as to the amount of
money that can be raised by the city for further construction of the water system. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman Miller and seconded by Councilman Peach that the Council
recess for a few minutes. Motion carried and reoess declared.

The council reconvened at 10:00 P. M. and upon roll call there were present Mayor
George Bangerter, City Clerk C. F. Christian, kating City Attorney W. J. Daly, Jr. and Councilmen
Wm. Lamers, Jacob Miller, Harry W. Robbins, S. V. Peach, W. B. Smith and Edward Quenell.

Moving Railroad tracks#
In the matter of the proposed p ving of a part of Water Street, it was moved by
Councilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman each that the Mayor confer with officials of the Port
Townsend Southern Railroad Company relative to moving the Railroad track on water street to permit
the paving in accordance wit the State Highway Department. Motion carried.

Vacation of U Street:
In the matter of the 1xpplication of Jack W. Miller for vacation of the easterly end
of U Street, Councilman Robbins stated that he examined the property and would report favorably on
the application. Councilman Robbins moved, seconded by Councilman Peach, that a hearing on the said
application be set for September 17, 1929, and�that notice of said hearing be give accordingto law
Upon roll call, all six councilmen present vot d in favor thereof and motion was declared carried.
