We would also like to ask fora 17 inch tap on Jefferson Street so as to get the full
benefit of the downward pressure from the top to the bottom of the terrace, for an extra set of
sprinklers which we find needed to wet the slopes between benohes. Fall seeding and planting is
almost here and your help in this matter would be much appreciated.
Very respectfully._

Glendale Dairy - Re: Water rates:
A communication from the Glendale llairy, relative to water rates was presented and read as
follows:
Port Townsend, Wash. .
August 17, 1929
Mr. Edward Quenell
Chairman Water Dept.
Port Townsend, Wash.
Dear Mr. Quenell,
Acting on your request of this morning, that Mr. Scott and myself draw up what we
might think was a reasonable and, fair schedule of water rates for commercial uses, we suggest the
following schedule:
First 3000 gal m $2.25
Next 1000 " " .60
Next 1000 ° ° .30
Next 20000 " " .21
Next 76000 " " .15
Over " '. .10 ..
These rates would not effect a material reduction in the Department's income and yet would
give relief to such large users as ourselves. We trust that you and the council will give them con-
sideration.
Yours very truly,
Glendale Dairy

National Paper rroduots Co. - Re: Outside taps
A oommunication from the National Paper Products Company, addressed to Councilman
Quenell was presented and read, as follows:
Seattle, Washington, August 19th, 1929
Mr. Edward Quenell,
Dhairman of Water Committee,
City of Port Townsend, Washington
Dear Mr. Quenell=
I am in receipt of 'a letter from the School District No. 41, asking for a oonneoti,
with the Water Line. It has always been my understanding that these people were still serviced fro=
the Snow Creek Line.
I wqs greatly shocked Saturday, to receive a call from the MoCormiok Company.'
stating that the Snow Creek line was no longer delivering water to them and that they wished to tap
on to our line.
Is it not possible for the City of Port Townsend to get water down the Snow Creek
line by clearing out the head bos, so as to take care of MoCormick's and the School, and several
other people you spoke of during our last visit.
It would seem to me that this school should be taken -care of as it'all possible.
Yours very truly,
