Sadler WJS/WS City Engineer D - Relative to City Map: July 16, 1929 To the Mayor and City Council Gentlemen; I wish to report that the new City Map has been omapleted with the exception that the lots have not been numbered on the street named put on the National City Addition 1 and 2 because Peet and Elfbrandt have not furnished the City with a tracing or blue print of same for record. As soon as this is.furnished I will put the necessary data on the map and the same will be ready for Blue minting. Aber the Map is Blue I•rinted I would like a copy fdr Mr. R. J. Middleton, Asst. Chief Engineer of the Chicago Milwaukee St. Paul and Pacific Railroad, who was kirld enough to furnish me with the Railroad Data. I would also like a copy to put on the wall in my office. Sadler WJSAWS City Engineer City Attorney: Deputy City Attorney Daly, reported that the abstractors had practically completed the abstract of title to the pipe line right-of-way. Also, that the attorneys for the National Paper 1'roduets 'ompany desired that several more items be completed, and that plue prints of the right-of- way should be filed in the County Auditor's office. In the matter of the refusal of Dr. DeLeon to pay the penalty for delinquency in his water rent, he advised that the water should not be shut off at the Bayview Hospital to enforce payment. BUILDING PERMITS Applications for building permits were presented, read and disposed of as follows: From W. N. Johnston; to -wit: Port Townsend, Wash., July 6, 1929 To the Honorable Mayor and City Uouncil, Pt. Townsend, Wash. Gentlemen: Permission is requested to make general repairs to the Rose Theatre building in block 9, lots 2,& 4.original townsite; at an estimated cost of 4200.00. Respectfully submitted, A. G. July 15, 1929 To the Honorable Mayor and City Council, Port Tovn send, Wash. Gentlemen: In the matter of deeding a certain tract of lend in the Kihns Ranch Addition, from the city to the school district, we have now prepared deeds, with propert descriptions under the supervision of Idr. Daly Jrl, attorney and Mr. Sadler, engineer, whereby Plaine Street will be connected through diagonally as proposed, and we now enclose a deed from the school district to the city to a parcel of land necessary for the new street, duly executed; a blank deed for your execution, to the property to be deeded to the School District, and a blank deed for execution by the City to the Catholic Iiishop of Seattle, to a tract of land exchanged with him for a similar parcel, the deed to the latter being now already executed and held in escrow for delivery upon your executing the enclosed deed. We have gone into this matter very thoroughly and believe all interests are protected in the matter and we respectfully petition your honorable body to authorize the execution of these deeds for the uses and purposes already set forth. From Port Townsend Municipal Golf Club: Communication from the Port Townsend Municipal Golf Club was presented and read•as follows: Port Townsend, Wash. July 15, 1929 To the honorable Mayor and City Uounoil Port Townsend, Wash. . Uentlemen: We hand you herewith a deed to the last privately owned parcel of land within the enclosure known as the Municipal Golf Links, making a total of eight city blooks we now have ac- quired for the City of Port 'Townsend, all now constituting a solid block of some 60 acres, with the exception of some dead end streets. We now respectfully petition your honorable body to take the proper steps to vacate certain streets within this enclosure, none of which have over been graded for vehicles, as follows Decatur; Kearney: Gaines and Scott Streets, from the North side of nlaine to North Bide of Van Ness Streets; Van Ness street from the Best side of Walker to the Ease side of Thayer Streets; the west and of L. Street beginning at East side of Ash Street, and the Soughern and of Ash Street, beginning at the South side of Street.
