Motion to purchase La France Fire Engine reconsidered.. It was moved by,Counoilman Robbing and seconded by Councilmen Lammers that the motion passed at the session of May 28th to purchase fire apparatus by reconsidered. Upon roll call• all six councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was•deolired carried.' To Procure Msoa Fire Engine It was, moved by Councilman Peach and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the City procure the. Mac)( fire engine and apparatus in accordance with the contract submitted provided that the said'MaoX fire engine company will give a bond to the city to guarantee service for the said apparatus for a term of thirty years, and that the Mayor and City Clark be authorized to sign said contract, provided it is satisfactory to the City Attorney and to the Attorney General. Motion carried. Complaint of Sherman A Mr. Sherman was given permission to address the council, and in a rambling state- ment claimed that water had been shut.off illegally at his premises. -Becoming abusive in his lan- guage, he was called to order by the Mayor and was advised that if he•WaS in arrears, all delinquent payments must be made before the water would be turned on. Townsend met in regular session this 18th day of June,1929 at 8 p.m., in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, Councilman Quenell, Mayor pro tem presiding in the absence of Mayor Bangerter. ROLL CALL. Upon roll call there were present CTFy Clerk C. F. Christian; W. J. Daly Jr., Deputy City At- torney, and Councilmen W. B. Smith; Edw. Quenell, William Lammers and Jacob Miller. READING MINUTES. The minutes of the regular session of June 4, 1929, were read and approved as read. Ma or Bangerter and Counallman Robbins arrives. At this time Mayor Geo. Bangor er and Councilman Harry W. Robb s arrived and took their re- spective chairs. REPORTS OF OFFICERS. City Attorne , re: Conference. Depu y city Attorney W. J. Daly presented a written report on the recent conference with Mr. Schoenwerk and others representing the National Paper Products Co., as follows, to -wit: Port Townsend, Wash., June 18th, 1929. Honorable Mayor and City Council, City of Port Townsend. Gentlemen: I have the honor to submit the following report of conference held between Messrs. Todd, Allen and Schoenwerk representing the National Paper Products and Messrs. Quenell, Aldrich, Sadler and the writer, held in the office of Mr. Todd in Seattle on Thursday the 13th of June , 1929. First: The National Paper Products will pay for the cost of certificate of title covering pipe line right-of-way. I know of my personal knowledge that the order has been placed by Mr. Todd's office. Second: Mr. Schoenwery made the following observations with reference to certain physical work to be completed before they will accept the lease in toto. Of course, the writer knows nothing of the subject matter, I only make this reference for the purpose of the Council's records. The notes I took are as follows: 1. Complete city lake, fill the same and have water go through screen box. 2. Complete back fill on main line. 3. Meter city line, at city limits (Paper Company have ordered a meter to place in line before discharge into mill); 4. Frost proof the valves. 5. Give Schoenwerk names, number and location of all taps outside city limits. Respectfully submitted, W. J. Daly Jr. Mr. Quenell, Mr. Aldrich or Mr. Sadler will correct you if I have made an error. Gentlemen: In compliance with resulotion of the City Council I transmit herewith the valuation of certain lots inthe downtown district of the city, such valuation being the valuation placed upon the lots by the County Assessor and such valuation is exclusive of improvements. Lot 1 Block 41 - $1200.00 Lot 2 Block 41 - D630.00 Lot 7 Block 42 - 1150"00 Lot 8 Block 42 - no assessed value, property is being purchased on contract. Lot 1 Block 42 - 925.00 Lot 2 Block 42 - $420.00 Lot 7 Block 43 - 550.00 Lot 8 Block 43 - no assessed value, property is being purchased on contract. Lot 1 Block 43 - No assessed value - contract. Lot 3 Block 43 - $495.00 Lot 5 Block 43 - $ 500.00 Lot 7 Block 43 - 550.00 Lot 2 Block 6 - Si no value - contract; Nu - $300.00 .Lot 4 Block 6 - $ 360.00 Lot 6 Block 6 - no value - contract. Lot 8 Block 6 - no value - contract. My personal observation is that, the contract buyers of property above will gladly agree to the improvement outlined in the original motion of Councilman Robbins. Councilman Quenell, of the special committee appointed to meet the representatives of the Na- tional Paper Products Co., reported that as a result of the conference, he had received a letter from Mr. Schoenwerk in relation thereto, which was presented and read as follows, to -wit: Seattle, Washington, June 13th, 1929.
