Minutes
It was moved by Councilman quonell and seconded by Councilman Robbins that the first reading
be considered the second reading,and that itobe placed on fiftlfor passage it the regular session
of the Council on Macy 28, and that the ordinance and notice of hearing on same be published once
in the Port Townsend Leader in the issue of May 23. Upon roll call all six 8ouncilmen present
voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried.
UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS
Under the headof unfinished business; ff ttttAriP which had been referred to various committees
at prelious sessions of the Council were taken up in detail and disposed of as follows;
Employment of Steel Tank and Pipe Company:
Employment of the Steel Tank and Pipe Company by Mr. Bear of Bear and•Cunn�ham to do
the welding of the steel pipe installed it the City Lake was taken up. It was moved by Council-
man quenell and seconded by Councilman Lammers that said action of the firm of Baer and Cun-
ningham be approved. Motion carried.
Plat of National City Addition No. 2:
The plat of National City Addition No. 2 was taken up and it was moved by Councilman Robbins
and seconded by Councilman Peach that the plat of National City Addition No. 2 be accepted.
Upon roll call all six Councilmen present voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried.
Petition of Walter S. Herstrom;
In relation tB the communication of Walter Be nerstrom with reference to damage done by
overflow from the City reservoir, it was moved by Councilman quenell and seconded by Councilman
Peach that the Water Superindendent bq instructed not to use said overflow until further notice.
Motion Carried.
Contract for Chlorine;
Relative to the communication of the Great Western Eleotro Chemical Company quoting prices
on liquid chlorine by contract, it was moved by Councilman quenell and seconded by Councilman
Lammers that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized and instructed to enter into a contract
with the Great Western Electro Chemical Company for liquid chlorine in such quantities as may
be required by the City. Upon roll call all six councilmen present voted in favor thereof and
motion was declared carried.
Employment of Central Inspection Bureau:
In relation to the offbro of the Central Inspection Bureau tq make shop inspections

of approximately 900 feet of steel pipe and fittings for the toatal sum of $4!?,, It was moved
by Councilman Quenell and seconded by Councilman Peach that said offer be accepted for the
total sum of 445. Motion carried.
Superintendent of Patrol Reports:
It was moved by Councilman Quenell and seconded by Councilman Peach that all -prior re-
ports made by G. S. Rose, Superintendent of the Pipe Line Fatrol be placed on file. Motion
carried.
Chambers and Smith:
The communications from C. J. Chambers and J. J. Smith requesting that license fees paid
by them be refunded were again referred to the Committee on :police_ and LicenseX and to the
City Attorney,

Petiton to Remove Boulders:
In relation to the petiton of the Port Townsend Building Corporation that certain large
boulders lying in the streets in front of their property be removed, Councilman Robbins,
Chairman of the Street Committee, reported that the work had been done.
Garbage Dump:
Councilman Smith reported that the streets leading to the garbage _dump had been repained
and that the dump was in $air, condition.
Street to Aloes Place:
Councilman Robbins, Chairman of the Street Committee reported thatthe road to the Moss
Place as petitoned For had been completed.
Miller and Peach Tax:
The eommunichtion of Miller and Peach with reference to old delinquent taxes was again
referred to the Finance Committee and the City Attorney.
31st Street Dundee:
Councilman Robbins, Chairman of the Street Committees reported that 31st Strcet�ndee Place ,
has been graded as requested by residents in that neighborhood.
Reports of Special Cbmmittees:
Mayor Bangerter requested reports from the Speoial Committees recently appointed. The
Committee to investigate report of alleged lawlessness reported progress. The Special Committee
on City planning and zoning hod nothing to reporto
Water for National City Development Company:
Taking up the request of the National City Develppment Company to be furnished with
water for property outside of the o i t y 1 I m i t a , it was moved by Councilman quenell
and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the request be denied. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Under new busines Mayor Bangerter appointed A. 0. A&exander to thepffice of Police Justice
to take effect June lateIt was moved by Councilman Quenell and seconded by Councilman Miller
that the appointment be confirmed. Upon roll call all six Councilman present voted in favor
thereof and motion was declared carried. Mayor Bangerter stated that he desiried at this time
to make public recogAition of past service of Earl D. Sturrock, retiring Police Justice. He
stated that the services of Mr. Sturrock had been satisfactory in every way, but the press of
private business compelled him to give up the City work. It was moved by Councilman Robbins
and seconded by Councilman Peach that the same be embodied in a motion and recorded in the
minutes. Motion carried.
Rubbish at Frank Meyers Place:
Mayor Bangerter called attention to certain rubbish at the Rrank Meyers place and re-
quested Councilman Smith to look into the matter with the view of having it cleaned up.
Water Taps Outside of City Limits.
Councilman quenell brought up the matter of water taps on the main supply line outside of the
City Limits and moved, seconded by Councilman Miller that the City Clerk be instructed to write to
the National Paper Products Company to ascertain if they will accept the pipe line with the taps
now in active use outside of the City Limits. Motion,:declared carried.
