Upon roll call, all six councilmen present voted in favor thereof and motion was de- olared carried. Copy of Ordinance No. 972 The following is a full, true and correct copy of said Ordinance No. 972'as passed by the City Council May 7th; 1929, approved by the Mayor May 9th, 1929 and published in the Port Townsend Leader May 9th, 1929. ORDINANCE No. 972 Whereas, it duly appearing to the city council that a necessary emergency exists for the appropriation of money, for the city engineer's compensation and.necessary assistance, labor and material, in connection therewith, for general engineering, and for the water department, of said city, "in the sum of $3300,00, and the issuance of emergency warrants in the payment* of said aura, and the sum of $30"00101, payable from the Current Expense Fund, and the sum of $3000.00, payable from the Olympic Gravity Works Fund, of said city; and that such necessary emergency appropriation and expenditure, in said sum, for thepurposes aforesaid could not have been foreseen or contemplated at the time of making and adopting of the 1929 budget for'the Current Expense Fund and the Olympic Gravity Water Works Fund, of said city; now, therefore, The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Viashington, do ordain as'follows: Section 1. That a.neoessary emergency is hereby declared and authorized, for the appro- priation and expenditure of money, in the sum of $3300.00, for the city engineer's compensation and necessary assistance, labor and material, in connection therewith, for general engineering, and for the water department, of said city; and that the issuance of emergency warrants in said sum of $3300.00, is hereby authorized, the sum of $300.00, payable from the Current Expense Fund, and the sum of $3000.00, payable from the Olympic Gravity Fiatar (forks Fund, of said City. Section 2. That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader, and to take effect and be in force five days from and after such publication. Passed by the City Council May 7th, 1929. Christian City Clark (SEAL) UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS Water Contracts Reporting on the proposals to furnish water to the United States Marine Hospital and to Naval vessels, it was moved by Councilman Quenell and seconded by Councilman Smith that contracts be entered into at the existing rates, and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign said contracts. Upon roll call, all six councilmen present'voted in favor thereof, and motion watt declare carried. Warrant for Recording Deeds Upon request of the City Clerk, it was moved by Councilman Robbins and seconded by Council- man Miller that the Mayor and the City Clark be authorized to draw a warrant in the amount of $1.80 to pay for recording two deeds for right-of-way for an extension of the pipe line in the Eisenbies Addition and National City Addition Number 1. Motion declared carried. III 1 IF 1 11 249 ' Notice to National Paper Products U ompanyrelative to xight-of-way It was moved by Councilman Quenell and seconded by Councilman Robbins that the City Attorney be instructed to notify the Attorney for the National Paper Products Company that the city is now ready to turn over the pipe line right-of-way to the said paper company. Motion carried. Insurance Report For the further information of the City Council, Mayor Bangerter read additional excerpts from the report of the Insurance Surveyor. Vacation of Stroet Hearing It was moved by Counoilman Robbins and seconded by Councilman Peach that the hearing of the petition for vacation of a street in the Johnston Addition be reset for June 4, 1929. Motion carried. Notice to National Paper Company of Water Rent Due It was moved by Councilman Quenell and seconded by Councilman Miller that the City Clerk notify the National Paper Products Company that the semi-annual water rental or lease was past due. Upon roll call all six coundilmen present voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried. Upon motion of Councilman Quenell, seconded by Councilman Peach, Council adjourned. Attest: City Clerk
