AFFIDAVIT OF POSTING

Before me the undersigned authority for administering oaths, personally
appeared one C. F. Christian, who being first duly sworn on oath, deposes and says: That he is the
regularly, elected, qualified and acting City Clerk of the City of fort Townsend, Washington; that
on the 20th day of March, 19290 he posted four notices the annexed of which is a full true and
correct in four public places in the City of Port Townsend, Jefferson county, Washington, to -wit:
one at the City hall in said city, one at the front door of the court house in said oity, one at the
corner of Washington and Tyler streets in said city and one at the corner of Pierce and Van Ness
streets ih said city, the last being the street or part thereof sought to be vacated.

NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING
IN THE MATTER OF THE VACATION OF A
PART OF A STREET
The Board of School Directors for School Dist. No. 43 of Jefferson County, having filed
with the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, a petition requesting the vacation
of a part of a street in said City, to -wit:
That part of Pierst Street from the Northerly side of Van Ness Street
to the North and of said Pierce Street,
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
That pursuant to a resolution passed by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend on
the 19th day of March, 1929, the said petition will be heard at 7:30 o'clock p.m., or as soon
thereafter as practicable, on Tuesday, the 16th day of April, 1929, in the council chambers of the
City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Jefferson County, Washington, when and where any person
or persons may appear and make exceptions or objections to the proposed vacation.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Official Seal this 19th
day of March, 1929.

The Ordinance was then introduced,/read in full, title being as follows:
"AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Townsend vacating part of Pierce street from the
northerly side of Van Ness street to the north end of said Pierce street.
It was moved by Councilman Quenell and seconded by Councilman Lammers .that the first
reading be considered the second reading, and that the third reading be by title only. Upon roll
call all six councilmen present voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried. The City
Clerk read the said Ordinance by title only for the third reading and it was moved by Councilman
Quenell, seconded by Councilman Peach that said Ordinance do now pass. Upon roll call, all six
councilmen present voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried.

The following is a full, true and correct copy of said Ordinance No. 973 as passed by the
City Council May 7th, 1929, approved by the Mayor May 9th, 1929, and published in the Port Townsend
Leader May 13th, 1929, to -wit:

The City Council of the City of Port Townsend do ordain as follows:
Section I - That part of pierce street from the northerly side of Van Ness street to the
north end of said Pierce street, be, and the same is hereby vacated.

Section II - That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader and to
take, effect and be in force five (5) days from and after ouch publication.
Passed by the Oity Council May 7th, 1929.

Ordinance establishing Adams Street grade
An ordinance establishing curb grades on Adams Street was presented and read in full,
the title of which is'as follows:
"AN ORDINANCE establishing curb grades on Adams street between Water and Washington
Streets in the City of Port Townsend and repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances conflicting
herewith. "
It was moved by Councilman Peach and seconded by Oouncilman Lammers that the first readin
be considered the second reading and that the third reading be by title only, and that the ordinance
be put on final passage. Upon roll call all six Councilmen present voted in favor thereof and motto,
was dealared carried. The said ordinance was then read by title only for the third reading.- it
was moved by Councilman Peach and seconded by Oounoilman Lammers that said Ordinance do now pass.
Upon roll call all six coundilmen present voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried.

the City Council May 7, 1929, approved by the Mayor May'9, 1929, and published in the Port Townsend
Leader May 13th, 1929, to -wit:
ORDINANCE NO. 974
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That the curb grade at the intersection of the north property line of
Water street and the east side of Adams street be grid the same is hereby established at the eleva-
tion of 3.45 feet above city datum;
That the curb grade at a point on the east aide of Adams street 166•feet northerly from
the north property line of rater street be and the same is hereby established at the elevation
of 5.48 feet above city datum;
That the curb grade at the intersection of the south property line of Washington street
and the east side of Adams street be and the same is hereby established at the elevation of 7.29
feet above city datum;
That the curb grade at the intersection of the north propert,; line of Water street and
the west side of Adams street be and the same is hereby established at 3.45 feet above city datum;
That the curb grade at a point on the west side of Adams street 166 feet northerly from
the north property line of Water street be and the same is hereby established at the elevation.
of 5.48 feet above city datum;
That the curb grade at the intersection of the south property line of Washington street
and the west side of Adams street be and the same is hereby established at the elevation of 7.58
feet abovd city datum.
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this
ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader and.be in
force and effect five (5) days after the date of the publication.
