Estimated cost of said platform 42,000. This corner platform will be used as a modern drive-in auto service Station, parking area and will have a large storage space underneath the platform reached by ramps. Any buildings that may be erected upon the platform for auto ser$ioe business will strictly conform with city fire ordinance requirements of course, and will be of such construction and design as to make the present vacant corner lots decidedly attractive and a feature of the business district. Upon investigation I find that the city overflow comes down the street on the side of this tract. It has washed considerable of the street away and with it has gone some of my proper -by.. In order that there will be no lost time, it will be well for you to•keep in touch with Mr. Coune and ascertain when such pipe has been distributed so that the welder will not be delayed. Honorable Mayor and City Uouncil, Port Townsend, Washingtonl Gentlemen: Under date of the 17th instant, the Steel Tank and Pipe Company is quoting you $425.00 for doing the necessary cutting and welding at the screen box and the feeder line into City Lake. As you will recall, the National Paper Products Oompany offered to do this work for the Gity of necessary, but in ta]]dng with Mr. Schoenwerk the other day, I formed the impression that it might be difficult for them to release their welder for the length of time required, and therefore asked the Steel Tank and Pipe Company to submit a figure to you. i
