Port Townsend, Wash., March 26, 1929
The City Council of the City of Port'Townsend met in regular session this 26th day
of March, 1929, at 7:30 P. M., in the Council Chamber of the City Hall.
ROLL CALL
Upon roll call, there were present Mayor George Bangerter, City Attorney, James
i W. B. Scott, City Clerk, C. F. Christian, and Councilmen S. V. Peach, Edward Quenell,
William Lammers, Harry W. Robbins and Clark Aldrich.
RESPECT PAID TO P. A. MANSON
At the request of Mayor Bangerter, the Council rose and stood at attentioni'for
a few minutes as a mark of respect'to the memory of the late Peter A. Manson, Coun-
cilman in the Third Ward.
RECESS
It was moved by Councilman Peach, and seconded by Councilman Quenell'that the
Council recess to Friday, March 29, 1929, at 7:30 P. M. Motion carried.
AFTER RECESS

The City Council met in recess session this 29th day of March, 1929, at 7.30
P. M., in the Council Chamber of the City Hall. Councilman quenell, Mayor pro tem,
presided.
ROLL CALL
Upon roll call, there were present City Attorney, James W. B. Scott, City Clerk,
C. F. Christian and Councilmen S. V. Peach, Edward quenell, William Lammers, Jacob
Miller, Harry W. Robbins and Clark Aldrich.

READING MINUTES
The minutes of the regular session of March 19, 1929, were read and approved
as read.
OPENING BIDS
Pursuant to Order duly made and published, bids were new opened for construction
of appurtenances to City Lake, as follows; to -wit:
From James H. Coyne: James H. Coyne submitted a bid, accompanied by a certified check
#9032, for 496 . , on the First National Bank of Port Townsend; said bid was read
in full by the City Clerk.
From Chasteen k Dorsey: Chasteen and Dorsey submitted a bid, accompanied by certified
check 7 , or ' M00, on Union Trust Company of Bellingham. Said bid was also
read in full by the City Clerk.
This being all the bids submitted, the said bids were referred to Mr. J. 0. Baer,
of Baar and Cunningham, Engineers, for tabulation.
RECESS
It was moved by Councilman %tuenell, seconded by Councilman reach, to recess for
five minutes. Motion carried.
AFTER RECESS
Council reconvened at 8:15 P. M., Mayor Bangerter presiding, and upon roll call,
there were present Mayor George Bangerter, City Attorney James W. B. Scott, City Clerk
C. F. uhristian and Councilmen ti. V. reach, Edward .iuenell, William Lammers, Jacob
Miller, Harry Vf. Robbins and Clark Aldrich.
VACANCY DECLARED
Mayor Bangerter declared a vacancy in the office of Councilman for the Third
Ward, on account of the death of P. A. Manson, late councilman.
Nominatin Committee A ointed: The Mayor then appointed a committee, with Councilman
Peac as c a rman, oge er with Councilman Lammers and Councilman Robbins, to submit
names for Councilman from the Third ward.

-Fort Townsend, Wash.
Gentlemen:
Permission is requested to erect an addition to the Central Hotel Building; said addition
to be on the southerly side of said building, on the West side of Taylor Street, between
Front and Water Streets. New building will be approximately 42 x 93 feet in size, three
stories in height and construction will be of brick, steel and concrete. The cost is estim-
ated at $26,590.00.
