The City Council of the City of Port Townsend met in gegular session this 15th day ofJanuary$ at 7.30 p.m., in the Council 9hamber of the City Hall, Councilman Quenell, Mayor pro.tempresiding. ROLL CALL. Upon roll call there were present City A orney as. W. B. Scott, City Clerk C. F. Christian, and Councilman S. V. Peach, Peter A. Manson, Edw. Quenell, Wm- Lammers, Jacob Miller, Harry W. Rob- bins and Clark Aldrich. MINUTES READ AND APPROVED. The minutes of the regular session o anuary , 9 9, were read and approved as read. BILLS AND CLAIMS. The bill of the Lofthus Lumber Co-, amount�o 72.00, was presented and referred to the Finance Committee - REPORTS OF OFFICERS. Treasurer's Report. The report of the City Treasurer for the month of December, 1$28, was presented, read and re- ferred to the Finance Committee. Recess. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES. -- it was moved by Councilman Lammers, eeoon e y Council man Peach, that the Council recess for fifteen minutes. Motion carried. Re -convened after recess. Re -Resembled and Roll Call. council re -seas ed at 8 p-m., and upon roll call there were present City Attorney Jae. W. B. Scott, City Clerk-C: F- Christian, and Councilmen S. V. Peach, P, A. Manson, Edwe Quenell, William Lammers, Jacob Miller, Harry W. Robbins and Clark Aldrich. Re: Petition of Nat. City Dev. Co. It was�Councilman Manson and seconded by Councilman Miller that the Water Commttes be granted further time on the petition of National City Dev0lopm8T* Co., for water supply. Street Light for E Street. Coim ilman Lamers brought up the matter of petition of property owners for a light at Chestnu and E Streets and requested that it be referred to the Fire and Light Committee - Petition of School Dist- No.43. At e request of Councilman Aldrich, chairman of the Finance Committee, further time was gran ted for consideration of the petition of School Dist. #43 to purchase land belonging to the City. Councilman Manson requested that the matter of reserving a small part of the tract for street pur- poses, at the North and of Harrison Street, be also taken under consideration by the Committee. COMMUNICATIONS. Building Permits. Applications for Building Permits were presented, read and disposed of as follows: From William Jones, to -wit: Port Townsend, Wash., January lb, 1929 To the Honorable Mayor and City Council, Port Townsend, Wash. Gentlemen: the Permission is requested to enclose the space between nthe Streatsehop to betate used8ford�ehood hin Rothschild Building on Water Street, between Adams and stand. Space enclosed will extend back from the street about 20 feet and the cost is estimated at $50.00 Respectfully submitted, William Jones. The Mayor referred the application to the Building Committee, but'Councilman Lammers stated that he had already investigated the matter and moved, seconded by Councilman Manson that the per- mit be not granted. Motion declared carried. From William Peterson, to -wit: Port Townsend, Wash., January 11,1929 To the Honorable Mayor and City Council, Port Townsend, Wash. Gentlemen: Permission is requested to erect a store building, 30 x 60 feat, two stories high, on Lot 8, Block 283, Eisenbeis Addition, at an estimated cost of $4500.00.
