Minutes of January 8, 1929, continued
thereafter, approximately one half of the property was sold to the District •for $466.40, out of
which amount the City was to take oars of local improvement assessmente approximating some $400.00
for sidewalk.
According to the records this assessment was never paid, and owing to the fact that a our
vey of the tract by a competent engineer, has proven that the tract as sold the District, is insuf-
ficient in area for an athletic field, now therefor, the undersigned Directors of School District
No. 43, hereby respectfully petition your honorable body for a deed to the balance of.the traot,for
the nominal consideration of $1.00. Respectfully submitted,

Seattle, for materials furnished in the construction of Contract No. 2, water supply line from the
Big Quiloene River.
We trust that this notice of claim will be filed and honored by you according to Section
10320 of Remington's Compiled Statutes of the State of Washington.

from the Big Quiloene River comprised by Contract No. 2, extending from the Dam at Station 324 to
Station 1225, both inclusive, in compliance with the plans and specifications therefor.

REQUISITIONS.
Requisitions from various departmen a were presented, read, and disposed of as follows:

It was moved by Councilman Quenell, seconded by Councilman Lammers, that the requisition
be granted. Motion declared carried.
For City Clerk's Departments
300 Warrants for Water Extension Construction Fund, (And other Funds)
500 Sheets 8j x 13 Typewriter Paper.
Upon motion of Councilman Quenell, seconded by Councilman Miller, said requisition was
granted.
For Street Department, to -wit:

Said requisition was referred to the Street and Finance Committees.
ADDITIONAL BILLS.
Referring ask to the Order of Business of Bills and Claims, the voucher of James H. Coyne, fo:

It was then moved by Councilman Quenell and seconded by Councilman Lammers that :said claim be
alloyed and that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to execute a warrant upon the Water Ex-
tension Fund in payment of same, Motion carried, upon roll call, all five couioilmen present votin
in the affirmative.
Inquiry Re: Surplus Iron Pipe.
Councilman Quenell asked Mr. Baar if he could advise the Council how much surplus steel pipe
was left after completion of the pipe line and Mr. Baar stated that there was approximately 24 feet
of 24"; 52 feet of 16"; 120 feet of 12"; and 4 Dresser Couplings for 24" pipe, with a total approx-
value of $300.00

Inquiry res condemned building.
CH2111mam Lammern asked City Atterney Scott what could be done in the matter if an attempt
was made to repair a building that had been condemned by the City Council. City Attorney Scott
replied that it was wholly a matter for the Council to handle. The Mayor requested the.nBuildiags
Committee to get all data possible for consideration at the next session of the Council.
REQUEST TO CHECK ESTIMATES:
Mr. ear made lone request that the Finance Committee and the Water Committee check over all
estimates an the oonstruction of the Big Quiloene River Water Extension Project before final set-
tlement was made.
REQUEST OF COYNE FOR ACCEPTANCE OF CONTRACT No. 2.
Mr. W. Jo Daly, appearing for contractorJae* H. Coyae, asked the Council if it would be pos-
sible to accept Contract No. 2 by vote of the Council to -night, since Boar and Cunningham, Engines;
had filed a Certificate of Completion of Contract No. 2 in accordance with the plans and specific&'
tions. A general discussion followed and upon inquiry, City Attorney Scott stated that the physi
cal acceptance of the completion had nothing to do with payments of money.
CONTRACT ACCEPTED.
Count man Quenell them moved the acceptance of Contract No. 2, the motion being seconded by
Counoilman Robbins. Upon roll call, all five councilmen present voted in the affirmative and mo-
tion was declared oarriedo
ADJOURNMENT.
Upon mption of Councilman 4.uenell, seconded by Councilman Pea oh, Council adjourned.
