Permission is requested to make the following repairs and alterations to the building
known as the old Catholic church at corner of Taylor and Franklin Streets, to -wit: Remove the
tourer, reshinglo Westerly side of roof and put in one door and only window in Taylor Street side of
building. Estimated cost, $400.00.
Aslo put in two windows in the dwelling house at 830 Franklin Street. Estimated co6t,y18.0

It was moved by Councilman Lanmiers and seconded by Councilman Gerson -that the permit be granted
provided that the sidewalks be fenced off while removing the tower, to protee the public. Motion
carried.

To the Ilonorable Mayor and City Council of the
City of Port Townsend.
Gentlemen:
Permission mf your Honorable body is hereby requested to make alterations and repairs to
the West store room of the TibbAls Building, located at the corner of Water and Tyler Streets.
The estimated cost of such repairs and alterations is ,$3500.00. The purpose of alterations and
improvement is to transform said room into a motion picture theatre and all wiring and electrical
apparatus installed shall comply with Underwriters specifications and City Ordinances governing
same. Plans and specifications herewith attached.

Upon motion of Councilman Gerson, seconded by Councilman Manson, 'said permit was granted.
ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS
An Ordinance entitled, "An Ordinance declaring emergency for appropriation and expenditure of
$100.00 for the improvement of Morrison Street, betweenJefferson Street and the State Highwray,and
authorizing the issuance of emergency warrants for the payment thereof,'r was presented and read in
full and in accordance with the statutes made and provided, was laid over for one week.
UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS.
Seal on Fire Hydrant at Van Orsdel Mill.
Councilinan.Gerson brought up the matter of the fire hydrant at the Van Orsdel sawmill, stating
that Asst. Water Supt, Green had reported that the seal was again broken and that the Ball Company
was using water from said fire hydrant.
Clerk to notify.
It was moved by Councilman Manson, seconded by Councilman Gerson that the City Clerk write the
Van Orsdel Mill Co., that vrhan the hydrant is again sealed, it must not be broken except in case of
fire. Also that the City Clerk notify the Fire Chief to seal said hydrant. Upon roll call,all
five councilmen present, namely, Gerson, Manson, Quenell, Lammers and Miller voted in the affirma-
tive and motion was declared carried.
To locate Morrison Street.
. Councilman Manson brought up the matter of the Morrison Street improvement and said the con-
tractor wanted the lines located so that he could go to work.
It was then moved by Councilman Manson and seconded by Councilman Lammers, that City Engineer
Sadler locate Morrison Street between the State Highway and Jefferson Street, tomorrow (Oct. 31)
Upon roll call, all five councilmen present voted in favor thereof and motion was declated carried.
TO EIvPLOY EXTRA PATROLMAN FOR IiALLOWEEN.
It was moved by Councilman Manson and seconded by Councilman Gerson, that the Cluiof of Police
be authorized to employ an extra patrolman to protect City and private property in the vicinity of
the High School on the night of Oct. 31st. Upon roll call, all five councilmen present voted in
favor thereof and motion was declared carried.
Thompson end Ordway petition for water mains.
ha•. Thompson and I+'a. Ordway appeared before the Council, requesting that the City put in water
mains in the vicinity of Lawrence Street and Sheridan Avenuo; to serve now buildings erected by
them in that neighborhood. The matter was referred to the Water Committee.
ADJOURNMENT.
Upon motion of Councilman Gerson, seconded by Councilman Miller, Council adjourned.
