The undersigned requests a POI -nit to install a fuel oil tank, of six hundred and seventy-
five gallons capacity, on the Clay Street side of his property. Not on street and 3 feet undergrou d

It was moved by Councilman Coyne, seconded by Councilman Lammers that the permit be granted,
provided he installs the tank on his own property. Motion carried. '

It was moved by Councilman Coyne, seconded by Councilman Lammers, that the permit be granted,

From Roy Seavey, re: sidewalk.
A communication from Roy Seavey, fire truck driver, was presented and road as follovrs, to -writ:

Sidewalk in front of Fire Hall is unsafe for fire truck.
Roy Seavey, City Hall Department.
It was moved by Councilman Quenell, seconded by Councilman Chapelle that the sidewalk in front
of the fire hall be repaired and put in safe condition, under the supervision of the Street Commit-
tee. Motion declared carried.
From J. 0. Bear, re notice to Paper Co.
A communication from Mr. J. 0. Boar of Bear and Cunningham, was presented and read as follows,
to -wit:
Port Townsend, Wash., October 4, 1928
Honorable Mayor and City Council,
Port Townsend, Washington.
Gentlemen:
:I observe in the minutes of your meeting held on October 2nd, 1928, that the City Clerk
was directed to notify the National Paper Products Company that the City is ready to deliver rater
to'the plant.
Please be advised that the pipe line has not, as yet, been completed or accepted by the
City, and until that time, its operation is in the hands of the contractor. I am taking the lib-
erty of calling this matter to your attention because it is of some moment, and you may desire to
re -consider notifying the National Paper Products Company at this time.

Mr. Boar, being called upon, spoke upon the several aspects of the case and advised that the
City is not legally ready to furnish the paper mill with water because the pipe line has not been
completed and accepted. He also stated that he was sure the payments for water could start with
October 2nd. A general discussion followed relative to the time of completion of the new pipe
line and the probable amount of funds that would be left over in the construction fund.
Extra staves and bands.
Mr. Haar advised the Council that the contractors would have a number of vrood staves and pipe
bands left over upon completion of the pipe line and suggested and recommended that the City pur-
chase and store this extra material.
Clerk to defer writing Paper Co.
It was moved by Councilman Lammers and seconded by Councilman Coyne that the Clerk defer writin
the letter to the National Paper Products Co., as ordered to do at the session of October 2nd, in
relation to being ready to furnish them with water as per lease. Motion declared carried.
