It was moved by Councilman Manson and seconded by Councilman Miller that the wages of chainmen and labor in the Engineer's Department be set at not less than $4 00 nor more than $6.00 per day. Upon roll call, all six councilmen present voted in the affirmative. Motion declared carried. Clerk instructed to notify National Paper Products Co. It was moved by Councilman Manson and seconded by Councilman Miller, that the City Clerk be instructed to notify the National Paper Products Co., that the City is now ready to supply them with water as per lease. Daly then addressed the Council in the interests of the Port Townsend Volunteer Fire Department and ur- ged that provision be made in the budget for two truck drivers, or in the event ible, that the salary that this was deemed impossfor one driver should be material• ly increased. After considerable discussion, it was moved by Councilman Manson and seconded by Councilman Lammers that the item of salary of the truck driver in the Fire Department be increased to $1500.00 per year. Upon roll call, all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion declared carried. Mr. Daly, on behalf of the. Fire Department, asked that it be made of record that the Depart- ment desired to express their hearty thanks for the spirit of co-operation shown in the matter.
