Coyne, seconded by Councilman Gerson, that the City Clerk be instructed to s rite to firms dealing in chlorinators, asking for prices and capacity, in time for .the next session of the Council. In reply, to an inquiry City Attorney Scott stated that the statute provided that bids should be called for if the expenditure exceeded $500.00. Upon roll call, all seven councilmen voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried. Meeting for consideration.of Budget_. Mayor Bangerter made the request that the finance Committee meet with him to consider the 1929 budget before it is placed before: the Council.. Re DeCosta Water claim. Councilman Gerson brought up the matter of the protest of Mr.- DeCosta in rela- tion to losing the discount on June and July water bills because he had not been properly notified and moved, seconded by Councilman Manson that the tender of Mr. DeCosta in the amount of $8.55.for the use of water for the months of June, July and August be.accepted.:' f Councilman Coyne spoke in opposition to the motion, stating that he believed it the Water Superintendent should be consulted before any action was taken. Upon roll call, Councilmen Gerson, Manson, Quenell, Lammers, Miller and Chapelle voted in the affirmative and Councilman' Coyne in the negative. Motion declared carried. Coyne Statement. Councilman, Coyne then stated that he wanted it to go on. record that if he was { Water Superintendent, he would tell everybody. that objected to. the penalty that !I they did not need to pay it. Water at Sawmill. Asst. Superintendent Green reported that the Van Orsdal sawmill were still u-• sing. water continuously from the fire protection hydrant and it was moved by Coun oilman Manson, seconded by Councilman Gerson that Asst. Supt. Green be instructed to seal said fire protection hydrant at ones. Motion declared carried. ADJOURNMENT. Upon motion of Councilman Quenell, seconded by Councilman Gerson, the Council adjourned.
