t It was moved by Councilman Gerson, seconded by Councilman Coyne, that:all
claims as read, be allowed and warrants drawn upon the prop::r funds, in payment of
same. This motion was withdrawn and it was then moved by Councilman Gerson, aecon(-
I:
ed by Councilman Coyne that all claims except the two claims for inspection of ma-
terial be allowed and that warrants be drawn upon proper funds in payment of same.
Upon roll call, Counci]inen Chapelle, Gerson, Manson, Miller and Coyne voted in the
affirmative and Councilmen Quenell and Lammers in the negative. -Motion declared
carried.
Claims for Shop Inspection.
It was moved by Councilman Manson, seconded by Councilman Gerson, that the
claims of the Central Inspection Bureau for $180.30 and of the Robert W. Hunt Co.
for 0551.47 for shop inspection, be paid subject to the same conditions in the.orde
of the Council made May let and recorded on Page 10, Journal "R" of the proceedings
'
of the City Council, in reference to the payment of same by Baar & Cunningham under
their contract with the City, the.:.wording of said motion being dictated by City At-
torney Scott. Upon roll call, all seven Councilmen voted in favor thereof and mo-
tion was declared carried.

The City Clerk reported that the regular salary warrants for the month of
May, 1928, had been issued under date of June let, as follows:

Treasurer's Report.
The report of the City Treasurer for the month ending April`30th, was pre-
sented, read and referred to the Finance Committee.
At this time, Councilman Miller was granted permission to retire.
Report of Chief of Police.
The report of the Chief of Police for the month of May, 1928, was presented,
read and ordered filed.

The report of the 'eater Superintendent for the month of May, 1928,. was pre-
sented, read and referred to the later Committee.
Report of City Attorney. .
City Attorney Scott, in a verbal report, stated that the suit against the
'McCormick Lumber Co., which had been held in abeyance in the Federal. Court, and after.
laying the matter before Mr. Schoenwerk and Mr. Todd, had the matter before the Court
and entered into stipulations with the attorneys for the McCormick Lumber Company to
dismiss the case without prejudice and without cost to either party.

Councilman Gerson stated that he had been advised by the City Treasurer that
all except R114,000.00 of 11unicipal Plater 'Forks Extension bonds had been sold and t

money received for same.

Reporting verbally on the communication of Fire Chief J. K. Metzger, Council-
man Lammers moved, seconded by Councilman Chapelle, that the recoi. endations contain
ed in said communication be adopted. Upon roll call, Councilmen Chapelle, "uenell,
and Lammers .voted in favor thereof, Councilmen Gerson and hLanson in the negative and
