Mr. Bear again brought up the matter of leaning trees slang the pipe line eight -of wayp including the McCormick Lumber Co. property and the Forest Reserge, and, recommended that approximately $$350.00 be allowed for the removal of these. trees before the pipe line was constructed. A discussion•followed as to the method of arriving at the ownership n of the Land upon which these trees were.located. It was then moved by Co nell seconded by Councilman Manson, that the contractor be authorized to out, by force account, under the direction of Baar and Cunningham, engineers, leaning trees alon the pipe line right-of-way to the extent of $300.00- Upon roll call, all seven Councilmen voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. RE RISITIONS. Requisitions for supplies for various city departments were presented,read and disposed of as follows: For City Fire Dept: 50 zinc Crowfeet 24 Coppers 12 Glass Jars It was moved by Councilman Chapelle, seconded by Councilman Lammers, that the.requisition be granted. Upon roll call, all seven Councilmen voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried. For City Clerk's Dept.: 2 - standard letter files It was moved by Councilman Chapelle, seconded by Councilman Manaon,that the requisition be granted. Upon roll call, all seven Councilmen voted in the affirm- ative and motion was declared carried. For City Water Dent. One dated April 25th, for 1 small emery wheel 10 - 12 inch knock -down collars One dated April 27th, for 300 small bill forms 300 large bill forms 200 plumbing inspection forms. It was moved by Councilman wuenell, seconded by Councilman Manson, that the requisitions be granted and upon roll call, all seven councilmen voted in favor thereof. Motion declared carried. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSIMSS. Communication from Stevens and Starrett. Communication from Stevens and Starrett was presented and read as follows, to -wit:- Port Townsend, Wash., May let, 1928 To the Honorable Mayor and City Council, Port Townsend, `gash. Gentlemen: - Permission is requested to withdraw our application, dated April 3rd, for permit to make reapirs to the store building at 922 hater Street. Stevens aid Starrett, By E. Morris Starrett. Upon motion of Councilman Gerson, seconded by, Councilman Quenell, request was granted. 'oodman easement read. Councilman quenell presented a form of easement covering the right of way for the pipe line across the property of James S. 'Woodman, which eras read as fol lows, to-,ait: EASrhE;NT. J. S. Woodman, a widower to City of Port Townsend. In consideration of the sum of Fifty Dollars paid by the City of Port Town- send, a municipal subdivion of the State of wiashington, party of the first part to J. S. Woodman upon execution by him of the proposed easement. Upon roll call,al seven councilmen voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. Deed from Ur Smith. The City Clerk exhibited a quit Claim Deed from Ur Smith, for right of way for pipe line. Recess It was moved -by Councilman quenell, seconded by Councilman Mansoh, that the Council recess to 1 o'clock P.M., Thursday, May 3rd, 1928. Motion carried. SESSION AFTER RECESS One o'clock P.M., May 3rd, 1928. Pursuant to motion duly passed at the session held Mayt:lst, the City Coun- cil re -convened this 3rd day of May, 1928, at 1 o'clock P.M., in the Council Cham- ber of the City Hall. Roll Call. Upon roll call, there were present Mayor George Bangerter, City Attorney Jae.. W. B. Scott, City Clerk C. F. Christian and Councilmen Jacob Miller, P.M.Coyn Harry Chapelle, Max Gerson, Peter A. Manson and William Lammers. Estimate No. 2, Contract No. 2. The claim of James H. Coyne, contractor, for Estimate No. 2, Contract No.2, in the amount of $61073.35, was now presented and read. Councilman Chapelle, It vras then moved by Councilman Manson, seconded by P that said claim be allowed and that a warrant be drawn upon the proper fund oinepay- ment of same. Upon roll call, all six councilmen present, namely, Chapelle, Gerson, Manson and Lammers, voted in favor thereof and motion was declare carried. Water Contracts. In the matter of proposals to furnish water to several departments of the Federal Government, It was moved by Councilman Manson, seconded by Councilman Coyne that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to enter into contracts to supply wrater to the Marine Hospital and the Nurses Home; also to;Coast Guard Section Base No. 10, and also to vessels of the navy Department calling at this port during the coming fiscal year, at the present rates and that the City be not required to give bonds. Upon roll call, all six councilmen present voted in the affirmative and .motion was declared carried. Water for Ke stone Ferry. Councilman Coyne brought up the matter of supplying the keystone Ferry with water and moved, seconded by Councilman Manson, that additional pipe and a meter be installed on Union Dock to supply the vessel operating on the Port'.Townsend-Keystan ferry route. After a short discussion, the motion was withdrawn. Building permits.
