posed and recommended that the matter be laid on the table.
'Hater Contract for Federal Building.
Councilman Coyne brought up the matter of the contract with the U,S. Post
Office building for water and it eras moved by Councilman Quenell that the contract
be renewed with the department at the present rates with no discount•allowed.
The motion receiving no second, it was moved by -Councilman Coyne, seconded
by Councilman Gerson that the contract with the O'ederal building be renewed at the
present rates including the discount privilege. Upon roll call, all seven Coun-
cilmen voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
Special Committee on Public Market.
Councilman Lammers, of the special committee on Public Market, eeported
that the matter had been fully Investigated, that a straw vote showed the sentiment
to be strongly in favor of a location on the hill and having asdertained that the
Odd Fellows Lodge was favorable, they recommended that the market be established
on Polk and Lawrence Streets by the Odd Yellows hall. City Attorney Scott then
advised the Council that if the market was established by ordinance of the City, th
city -would be responsible for the conduct and operation of the market. It was
then moved by Councilman Chapelle, seconded by Councilman Manson, that the City
Council give permission to Pomona Grange to establish a Public Market on Polk Steee
by the Odd Fellows Hall at their own expense. Upon roll call, all seven Council-
men voted in favor thereof and motion was declared carried.
Finance Committee.
The Finance Committee presented the following report:

line. Also to construct an enclosed porch, about 6 x 8 feet, at the rear of my
dwelling house. Cost is estimated at .3225.00.

I hereby ask that •I be granted a further extension and second renewal
for a period of one year, from July 1.; 1928, to June 30, 1929, of that certain
lease of a part of Front St., said lease being dated July 1•, 1923, and covering
that portion of Front Street in the City of Port Townsend, Tashington, described
as follows, to-rrit:
Commencing at the intersection of the 'Nest line of Union Dock
Located on the westerly line of Taylor Street, with the South line of Front Street,
thence southerly along said West line of Union Dock a distance of fifty-four (54)
feet, this being the initial point of this description; thence at a right angle rur
ning westerly thirty-five (35) feet; thence at a right angle running southerly
