HomeMy WebLinkAbout02525r) (0 ORDINANCE 110. 1673 AN ORDINANCE FIXING VACATION AND SICK LEAVE ALLOWANCES FOR CITY EMPLOYEES, EXCEPTING THOSE UNDER UNION CONTRACTS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Regular employees, as the term is hereinafter used, shall be those employees of the City of Port Townsend who, in the regular course of their duties, are employed not less than seven hours each day during each full working day of the year,.a&,l WI,p Rk4 ho-r 1v6Zeevr 'Co vw%L, Cak TrAA«q, Section 2. Regular employees of the City of Port Townsend shall be allowed 1.Ae vacation time in each year as follows: for each employee having completed one continuous year of service, ten working days; for each employee having completed two years of service, fifteen working days; and for each regular employee having completed ten years of service, twenty working days. Section 3. Vacation leave shall not be cumulative, and any portion of vacation leave not taken in the year in which it has been earned shall.be forfeited.. Section 9. Section 5. The employee having taken sick leave as herein provided shall be compensated at his regular rate during the period of such sick leave, but no sick leave shall be accumulated or paid for any period exceeding one hundred eighty (180) working days. Section 6. Employees who do not qualify as regular em- ployees, as he— re nabove defined, shall accumulate credit toward va- cation and sick leave allowances at the rate of one month credit for each one hundred seventy (170) hours worked. Section 7. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval and publication in the form and manner required by law.
