tures as may be necessary, in the City of Port Townsend, for a
period of ten (10) years from and after the date of taking effect
of this said Ordinance, the location thereof being substantially
as follows:
Extending out from Lots 5 and 7, in Block
19, L.B. Hastings First Addition to the City
of Port Townsend, southerly over, upon and
across Front Streetto its south line thereof,
together with the right to install pipes
thereon for the transporthtion of oil, petro-
leum and its products, water and other fluids,
in connection with the operation of said dock.
Section 5. The said wharf shall be maintained in substan-
tially the same location and in the same manner that it is now
in, with the right and privilege hereby granted the said Shell
Oil Company, Inc., a Virginia Corporation, and its assigns to
repair, improve, add to and maintain or remove the same as
herein provided.
Section 6. The said wharf and its approaches shall be
maintained in a substantial and workmanlike manner, and shall be
subject to inspection by and.approval of the City Council of the
City of Port Townsend.
Section 7. That the Shell Oil Company, Inc., a Virginia
Corporation, and its assigns, shall pay to the City of Port Town-
send the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per annum for each and
every year during the term of this franchise, said sum of Fifty
Dollars ($50.00) to be payable in advance on or before the 25th
day of March, 1969; that in case the said grantee or its assigns
shall fail to comply with any or all of the conditions of this
Ordinance, then and thereupon this franchise shall become null and
void and all rights and franchise herein granted shall become
forfeited.
Section 8. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage, approval and filing of the
acceptance of the same by said grantee, and from and after five
