HomeMy WebLinkAbout01723I ORDINANCE NO. 1319 AN ORDINANCE of the Council of the City of Port Townsend accepting the bid of Crown Zellerbach Corporation to lease the portion of the City's waterworks and system described in Resolution No. 56-1, passed by the City Council and approved by the Mayor January 17, 1956, and authorizing and directing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute such lease. WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend now owns, maintains and operates its waterworks and system, both within and with- out the City limits; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City deemed it advisable to lease part of such waterworks and system located outside the City limits and on January 17, 1956, adopted its Resolution No. 56-1, wherein it found that it was advisable and in the best interest of the City and its inhabitants to lease a cer- tain part of such waterworks and system, which re:-:,.Lution stated the general terms and conditions of such lease and authorized the calling for sealed bids to be filed with the City Clerk stating the amount to be paid as rent for each year of the term of the proposed lease; and WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 56-1 and a notice calling for such bids were published in the official City newspaper on the 19th and 26th days of January, 1956 and the 2nd and 9th days of February, 1956, as required by law; and WHEREAS, said resolution and notice provided that such bids should be submitted to and filed with the City Clerk not later than 5:00 p.m., February 21, 1956 and that the same
