AN ORDINANCEE making and fixing the tar, levy for the City of
Port Townsend for taxes for the year 1955.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'PHE CITY OF PORT TOIYNS ND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Sec Lion 1
That there is„hereby levied upon all the taxable property in
the City of Port T vmsend, the following sums of money and rates
of tax levy for the different purposes herein designated, for the
year 1955, and the rate of taxation upon the dollar of assessed
valuation o£ said City for such purposes is as follows:
FIRST for the payment of Current 2xpenses and for the Current
Expense F• uld the surf off17 999.44 and the rate of tax levy
for snid Fund is hereby fixed at 7.B mills on the dollar.
SECOND for the purpods of maintaining a Public Library and for the
Library Fund, the sum oflq6461.34 and the rate of tax levy
for said Fund is hereby fixed at 2.8 mills on the dollar.
THIRD for the purpose of maintaining a Public Park and for the Park
Fun%, the sum of0461b.24 end the rate of tax levy for said
Fund is hereby i' x�ecTaf� 2.0 mchlls on the dollar.
FOURTH for the maititenance and Improvement of the Public Streets
of the City and for the City Street Fund, the sum of 3230.67
and the rato of tax levy for said fund is hereby fixe_ a
1.40 mills on the dollar.
FIFTH for Hospitalization and 14001cal Service of Injured Paid
F remen and for Ponsione and for the Firemen's relief and Pension
Fund, the sum of :'2307.62 and the rnte of tax levy for said
Fund is hereby fixed at 1.00 mills on the dollar.
Section 11
That the 14ayor and City Clerk of said City are hereby
authorized and directed to certify to the County Auditor and
County' Assessor of Jefferson County, Washington,the foregoing
tax levy of said City.
Section 111
That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend
Leader to be in force slid take effect as provided by law.
Passed by the City Cotuicil this 5th day of October 1954.
Approved by the Mayor this day of October 1954.
