HomeMy WebLinkAbout017083 ANORDINA110E of the City of Port Toin send providing for the renovation and repair of the city hall of said city 4 independent of contract. 6 WEEREAS, at the time of the adoption of the official 6 budget for said city for the year 1946, it was determined 7 1 by the City Council that certain repairs and renovations be 8 11 made to the city hall, and, 9 'WHEREAS, pursuant to directions of said City Council, 10 there has been prepared and adopted, plans and specifications 11 embracing the comtemplated work, together with form of pro- 12 posal and contract and notice given thereunder by call for 13 bids in accordance therewith, which bids were directed to 14 be filed with the City Clerk up to 5:00 o'clock P.M., October 16 1, 194G, and to be opened at the regular session of the City 16 Council of the City of Port Townsend on said date, which said 17 call was regularly published in the Port Townsend Leader and 18 in the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce for the time and 19 11in the manner as provided by the order of said council, and, 20 WHEREAS, at said time and place, no bids whatsoever were 21 received, and from information coming to the attention of said 22 City Council, it further appears that no responsible bidder 23 will offer a bid for such work at the present time, and, 24 VWHFREAS, said City Council does now find and determine 25 that at least a portion of such comtemplated work be imme- 26 distely commenced and concluded in order to conserve public 27 11property; prevent further waste and avoid the dissipation 28 of public funds, and that such work can be performed and 29 materials acquired independent of contract cheaper in any 30 event, / 31 TEBE=� THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT T034BSE',TD ORDAIN A.S FOLLO71S:
