'11 ORDIN'7'Gs of the City of 1'ort Townsend providing for the .
immediate appropriation of money for expenditure
durinr; the year 1945 to provide orifri.nal capital
for the prosecution of that certain public work
contemplated under Resolution No. 44-4 of said
city and as further authorized and directed under
Ordinance Nos. 1169, arid 11e0; fixinE; the name
of the fund as created hereunder and declarinc; an
emergency.
7!IMTY�S, at the time of the adoption of the official budt-at
of the Olympic Gravity '.'later Systc:r, for the year 19.E, the
amount proposed to be expended under Resolution Iio. 44-4 and
under Ordinance No. 1169 of said city could not, with accuracy,
have been foreseen, and,
,�rIERLAS, under contract heretofore directed to be executed,
by and between the City of Port Townsend and The Steel Tank and
Pipe Company of Portland, the amount whereof has been settled
and determined at ,;68,082.99; and, that in addition thereto it
is necessary that further appropriation be made to provide for
the engineerinr;, sales tax, and other incidental expense hereto-
fore incurred, arid to be hereinafter incurred, in the prosecution
of such work, and,
wFi:R"A8) the City Council has now fired and determined that
the sum of w981000.00 is a sufficient sum to provide for these
purposes and to take core of the payment of estimates that will
be submitted from time to time by the contractor, and awaiting
reimbursement from the lessee under the existinG lease heretofore
executed under Ordinance No. 1169 as aforesaid, now therefore,
