Section 23. All bills for water by fixed or flat rate
are due and payable on the first day of each month in advance,
at the office of the City Treasurer, without any notice whatever
to the consumer, PROVIDED HOWEVER, that if the same are paid on or
before the loth day of each month, a discount of 550 shall be
allowed, as to each thereof, but, thereafter, the same shall be
considered delinquent.
All bills for the use of water by meter shall be due
and payable on the first day of each and every succeeding month,
and if not paid within ten days from due dete, the same shall be
considered delinquent.
In the computation of time under this ordinance,.should
the loth day of the month fall on a Sunday or a holiday, the ten
day grace period hereby authorized shall be extended an additional
day.
In all cases where water is not paid within the time
provided by law, .the payment may be enforced by shutting off the
water until all charges including charges for "shut-off" end "turn
on" shall have been paid.
Section 2. That this ordinance be published once in the Port
Townsend Leader to be in fored and. take effect September 1, 1944.
