APT ORDIT;AT;C?; of the City of Port. To�nsond, appropriating money from the Olympic
Gravity Fluter Fand of the City of Port Townsend for the purpose of
defraying the cost and expense of the prosecution of the work of
making certain replacements of portions of the Olympic Gravity .later
System, as contemplated by resolution of the City Council adopted
June 21, 1938, and declaring an emergency for the immediate expend-
iture of such money so appropriated.
WHEREAS, at the time of the adoption of the official budget for the Olympic
Gravity Plater Fund for the year 1938, it was not foxween or contemplated that the
further exnenditure of federal money under the Emergency Administration of Public
Works would be carried on during said year, and,
VIRM- AS, by recent Act of Congress, approved by the President of the United
States, funds have been appropriated for disbursement- by such administration by
way of grant and aid to worthy projects sponsored by lesser governmental units
throughout the state and nation, and,
WiMME1S, pursuant to such Act of Congress, the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend, by resolution, dated June 21, 1938, has deemed it advisable to
make certain replacements of the water system owned and operated by the City of
Port Townsend, and has set aside funds sufficient to carry out the spirit and
intent thereof, and,
such sum of money so set aside cannot become available for expend-
iture without compliance with statutory authority, now, therefore,

Section 1. That a public emergency be, and the scone is now declared for
the immediate appropriation of money for exnondituro luring the year 1938, in
the sum of 8,656.19, for the purnoso of making; certain replacements to the
water system of the
CityofPort Townsend as specified and adontod in that
certain rosolutiod&jAa ':- b;; said City Council, June 21, 1938, an»roved by the
Ysyor, June 21, 1938.
