construct and maintain a wharf at the foot or southerly end of Adams Street
in the City of Port Townsend.

hereby authorized to construct and i,iu.intuir a wharf in'tho City of ?ort
Townsend, at the foot or sotherly end of Adams Street, commencing at a
point on Adams Street at the present bulkhead on the waterfront, approx-
imately 54 feet southerly from the South lino of ,later Street, and ex-
tending along said Adams Street and across Front Street to a point on
Port T.rvnsurd bay where there shall be at; least ten feet (10) of water at
low tide, which wharf shall be sixteen (16) feet in width, that is to say:
sixteen (16) feet in width 'Nest from the Last line of Adams Street.
Section 2 That the said L'. 71. Eisenbe.i.s, his successors and assigns, are
also hereby authorized to construct and maintain at the southerly end of
said wharf an addition, or additions, in tiro ford of an (L) or (T) not
exceeding one hundred (100) feet square, upon which may be errected whare-
house and other necessary improvements.
Section 3. Said F. J. Fsisenbeis, his successors and assigns, shall be
entitled to charge for the use of said wharf and iuprovemer_ts such rates
of wharfage, dockage, storage and tolls us the proper authorities of the
city of Port Townsend may from time to time legally establish; provided,
however, that all property and material belonging to the said city, or
for its use, shall be achnitted over s:jid wharf free of charge.
Section 4, The City retains the to lay and maintain water pipe lines
for fire purpose, or sale of water, any where on said wharf outside of the
buildings thereon, as one of the conditions upon which this franchise is
granted.
Section 5. The City of 'ort Townsend also reserves and !::uintains the right
to establish and maintain a float alongside of said wharf on the easterly
and inshore side of (L) or (T) with suitable steps or gangway leading to
said float, which shall be for t':-:e free use of the public for the purpose
of landing and shipping property or freight not exceeding five hundred
(500) pounds in quantity at any one tine, an(] such property and freight, so
landed or shipped, may be transported over said wharf, to or from suid
float, without payment of wharfage, dockage or tolls of any kind.
Section 6. Said F. W. P,isenbeis, his successors and assi'-ns, shall begin
the construction of said. wharf within sixty (60) days after this ordinance
takes effect, and shall complete the saw:ie within four (4) months from date.
Section_ 9. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five da;s
after its publication, and shall continue to be in force for a period of
ten (10) ,years, and no longer.
