AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Townsend providing for the immediate
appropriation and expenditure of money from the Olympic
Gravity Water Fund and providing for an emergency.
WHEREAS, under the unforeseen donation of gratuitous labor under the
provisions of the Civil Works Administration of the United
States of America, it was impossible for the City of Port
Townsend in the preparation of the budget for the Olympic
Gravity Water Works System for the year 1933 to provide for
and appropriate money for the unforeseen contingencies and
free donation of labor under the Civil Works Administration,
and,
WHEREAS, it is economically inadvisable for the City of Port Townsend
to fail to aid in the carrying on of this necessary public
work, therefore, the
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOVINSEND, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the sum of $325.00 be and the same is hereby
appropriated for the purpose of permitting the City of Port Townsend
to aid and facilitate in the efforts of the Civil Works Administration
of the United States of America under the National Recovery Act, said
sum to be apportioned, under the Olympic Gravity Water Fund as follows:
Engineering:
Salary of Engineer ................... $250.00
Office supplies ...................... 25.00
Maintenance and Operation:
Gasoline and Oils .................... 50.00
and that the issuance of emergency warrants, not exceeding said sum,
upon the revenues of the Olympic Gravity Water Works System, be and
the same is hereby authorized.
Section 2. That this Ordinance be published once in the Port
Townsend Leader And take effect and be in force five days from and
after such publication.
