of same and providing an cmergency.
WHEREAS, at the present time, there arc insufficient lateral sewers running
from the main trunk server on Crater Strout to serve the present and future hoods
of the abutting property on Plater Street between the west lino of Tyler Street
ehd the east line of Harrison Street, and,
VciII_R1:1.S, the HiGhwny Depurtnent of the StRte of Zashington contemplates
the immediate paving with concrete of a portion of said Water Street from Wal-
ker Street to Tyler Street, and,
MEREAS, before such street paving is completed it is in.perative that cer-
tain abutting proporty on said Plater Street be connected with lateral sawars,
and,
WHEREAS, within the limited time it is impossible for the City of Fort
Townsend to provide for the pal:nunt of the construction of such lateral sewers
by any method other than by the expenditure of money from the Current Expense
Fund of said city at an amount estimated by the City Engineer at the sun of
$1696.00 according to his plans and specifications now on file with the City
Council, and,
;TIiEREAS, there are at present no funds available in said fund in the
budget for the your 1930, and,
'r REAS, such deficiency, or the reason therefor, could not have been
reasonably foreseen at the time of the making and adoption of such budget, and,
Rf4 REAS, an emergency now exists for the appropriation and expenditure of
the foregoing sum of money for the purposes aforesaid, therefore,
The City Council of the City of Port, Tornsend, Washington, do ordain as
follows:
Section 1. That an emergency is hereby declared for the appropriation of the.sum
of 11696.00 as estimated, and,hereinnftor itemized and classified as follows:
SEWER DEIART,,MI;T.
Construction of lateral sewers on 'slater Street between
Tyler and Harrison Streets according to plans and speci-
fications on file with the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend ................................................ $1696.00
Section 2. That the above sun is hereby appropriated for such purpose
and emergency warrants upon the Current Expense Fund are hereby authorized to
be drawn against said item.
Section 3. That this Ordinance be published once in the fort To•rnzend
Loader, to take effect and be in force five days from and after sucA publi-
cation.
