Section 1. That section one (1) o'Ordinance ITo. 218,
entitled "All Ordnance to license, tax and regulate theaters, shorts,
exhibitions and public amisel::cnts in Port .Tosnsend, "ao amended by
Ordinance No. 808, approved by tic ILV- or Octobor 18, .1911, be
and then is.Ilorehy amended to read an follows:
Section 1. All theaters, operas, concerta, shorts dances or
balls, o;hibitions and other public amvtsements hereafter given or
conducted in the City of Port Townser_d, Washington, Shall be
licensed and tared at thefoll.or:ing sums �--nd rates to be paid in
advance, to-:'rit:
Every circus, exclusive of sidesho..s, 5i�50.00 per day;
'very sideshow connected with any circus,•$7•.50 per 4ay;
Llrery dance or ball given or conducted as such-intertainment,
or in connection with any other intertainment or amusement, at any
place in the City of Port Tovnoin�d, and charging an admission fee
or other thing of value, ,$

tax or license fee shall be reiquired for such dance or ball, when
-same is given or conducted by any bona fide beneficial society,
lodge or fraternity church or school, red cross, scientific,
charitable or edudaiional society, civic league or association,
or social. club.,. composed of residents of said city, when no
part of the profits thereof inures to the benefit of any member
thereof, or any individual having connection therewith;
Every theater, opera, concert, show exhibition or inter-
tainment and every other public ammusement, ;?5.00 per day, P18.00
per week, $30.00 per month, or $150.00 per year,• when given or
conducted in -any regularly established opera house, theater build-
ing, or lodge hall, and when the same is not given or conducted for
the puupose of selling or offering for sale, or advertising, any
personal property, remedy, medicine, cure, device, or any other
article or thing whatever, but when same is given or conducted
elsewhere, or in any tent or temporary structure, 010.00 per
day; provided, however, that. no tax or license fee shall be
required for any intertainment, when same is given or conducted
by any bona fide scientific or educational association, including
Chautauqua;

tainment, and every other public alllusement, When the same is given
or conducted in connection with, or for the purpose of selling or
offering for sale, or advertising any personal property, remedy,
medicine, cure, device, or.awj- article or thing Whatever, $10.00
per day, when salve is given or conducted in any regularly established
opera house, theater building or lodge hall, but when same is given
or conducted elsewhere or in any tent or tomporay structure $10.00
per day; '

Section_ 2. That Ordinance No. 808, approved by tale Mayor
October 18, 1911, and amendatory of said Ordinance No. 218, be and
the same is hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this Ordinance be published once in the
Daily Leader, and to take effect and be in force five days from
