improvements to be made, and a description of expected benefit of HUD fund expenditures.

Provide a complete description of the work to be performed, with at least ONE BID FROM A
LICENSED CONTRACTOR. If the applicant can provide sufficient evidence, satisfactory to
the committee, that he/she is capable of completing the project him/herself, applicant may
elimh3ate the need for a bid. Provide material and labor cost estimates by major categories such
as awning, paint, repair, carpentry, electrical, etc. as an attachment to this application and
include a description of how HUD funds will be utilized:

The review was conducted pursuant to Chapter 17.30 and of the Port Townsend Municipal Code,
and was based on the application submitted on October 27, 2008

After review of relevant design guidelines, the Historic Preservation Committee finds that the
proposed, developments (circle one)
CONTRIBUTES IS ACCEPTABLE DOES NOT CONTRIBUTE
to the Port Townsend Historic District AS PRESENTED, subject to the following
conditions/limitations:
1. The applicant shall present for review and approval bytbe sub-committee details on the
following:
a) exterior lighting specifications; .
b) roof shingles on second story rear entry porch; and,
c) rear fapade, second story door hardware.
2. Any re-plaster work planned for the front fagade shall be done using lime based material.
3. The rear farsade staircase replacement is approved using the mixture of steel rods and 1" x
4" treated wood as shown for the balusters. Alternatively, the applicant may re-use the
existing 1 "x 4" pattern only in rebuilding the stairs.
4. Any future painting. of the building is limited to those parts ah~eady painted. If colors are
chosen from the approved ette, ao additional design. review is required.
