HomeMy WebLinkAbout3007 Repealing PTMC Chapter re: FirefightersOrdinance No. 3007 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND REPEALING PORT TOWNSEND MUNICIPAL CODE, CHAPTER 2.26, VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS' AND RESERVE OFFICERS' BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND CHAPTER 2.42 PROGRAM OF ACHIEVEMENT, VALOR RECOGNITION AND LONGEVITY OF SERVICE AWARDS AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE PORTIONS R'HEREAS, the City of Port Townsend now contracts for fire service with Fire Dish'ict No. 1 operating as East Jefferson Fire and Rescue, and the City no longer employs firefighters including, volunteer firefighters, and therefore the following chapters of the PTMC are unnecessary and should be repealed: PTMC Chapter 2.26 -Volunteer Firefighters' and Reserve Officers' Boazd of Trustees and PTMC Chapter 2.42 -Program of Achievement, Valor Recognition, and Longevity of Service Awards (relating to awards for volunteer firefighters).
