AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,WASHINGTON,ADOPTING
DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS RELATING TO AGRICULTURAL USES
INCIDENTAL TO A PRIMARY USE, AND AMENDING PORT TOWNSEND
MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 17.20 AND TABLE 17.20.020 PERMITTED,
CONDITIONAL AND PROHIBITED USES TO ALLOW AGRICULTURE AS AN
INCIDENTAL USE WITHIN THE CI, CII AND CII(H) COMMERCIAL ZONES
RECITALS:
A. At its meeting on October 17, the City Council passed a motion to refer to the Planning
Commission a proposed zoning text amendment that would allow agricultural uses as an
incidental use in the CII—General Commercial district; and
B. The Planning Commission met on this matter in Workshop sessions held on November 10
and December 22, 2016 and on January 12, 2017. Following a February 9, 2017 public
hearing, the Planning Commission recommended approval to the City Council of a code
amendment to allow agricultural uses in certain commercial zones; and
C. The City Council held an open record public hearing on March 6, 2017, and has considered
public comments and written submittals, and considered the recommendation of both the
Planning Commission and the DSD Director and staff:
NOW, THEREFORE,the City Council of the City of Port Townsend ordains as
follows:
Section 1. New Sections and Amendments. Chapter 17.20 of the Port Townsend
Municipal Code and Table 17.20.020 is amended to read as follows:

Sectiort 2. S er abilam!. If any provision of this Ordinance or its application to any
person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of the
provision to other persons or circumstances, is not affected.
Section 3. Publication. This Ordinance shall be published by an approved summary
consisting of the title.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days
after the date of its publication in the manner provided by law.
