Roundtable Updates:
• Mari Mullen reported on Main Street events including Taste of Port Townsend, Concerts on the Dock, merchant breakfast meetings and restated the need for additional public restrooms downtown.
• Nathan Barnett reported on growth for the Brass Screw Confederacy festival and is looking at potential new dates for the event; Inn numbers are solid but down from 2015.
• Bill Roney reported a 5% increase in visitors in June.
• Denise Winter reported on upcoming teen program, Shakespeare in the Park and preview showings of the Port
Townsend version of a Christmas Carol.
• Cindy Finnie reported lodging numbers on par with 2014.
• Barb Trailer reported on a successful Race to Alaska event and efforts to increase attendance at the Wooden Boat Festival.
David Timmons reported on upward trending B&O tax and lodging tax revenues and the planning for the Water Street Pavement Project from the ferry terminal to Tyler Street. He also confirmed that trail maps would be in production soon.
Christina Pivarnik reported on a winter marketing campaign that focused on Foodies (November), Families (December), Adventurers (January) and Romantics (February). She also presented details on an upcoming “Four Seasons” photo contest to help collect images to use for marketing.
