HomeMy WebLinkAbout082516 FINAL MinutesLODGING TAX ADVISORY COMMITTEE SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES DATE: August 25, 2016 START TIME: 3:00 p.m. LOCATION: City Hall Conference Room 1 VOTING MEMBERS PRESENT: Michelle Sandoval (Chair), Nathan Barnett, Sherri Hanke, Amanda Milholland, Dave Robison, Denise Winter, Todd Gubler, Robert Birman NON-VOTING MEMBERS PRESENT: Mari Mullen MEMBERS EXCUSED: Teresa Verraes, Janette Force, Cindy Finnie, William Roney, Barb Trailer CITY STAFF PRESENT: City Manager David Timmons, Marketing Director Christina Pivarnik, Deputy City Clerk Joshua Stecker, Finance and Administrative Services Director Nora Mitchell Topic Action Chair Michelle Sandoval called the meeting to order at 3:15 p.m. Approval of Minutes: July 12, 2016 Unanimously approved. David Timmons reviewed the City’s process for completing the Joint Legislative Audit & Review Committee (JLARC) Municipality Report to submit to the state. He reminded the Committee that their role in the budget process is to forward a recommendation of expenditures to Council. The Committee reviewed ideas for 2017 expenditures including allocating more funds for cooperative marketing, creating collaborative videos with directions and itineraries, and infrastructure improvements (restrooms, downtown free wifi, passenger ferry). The Committee will recommend a budget proposal at their October meeting. David Timmons updated the Committee on potential improvements that could come as part of the Water Street repaving project and the Visitor Information Center Triangle Park project.
