During these trips, the team began getting evening visitations from a family of creatures that left huge 5-toed prints. The creatures began to interact with the hunters and they were able to record the creatures’ vocalizations. Ron’s research has taken him into almost all parts of the world. His book, “Voices in the Wilderness,” was produced in 2012 and chronicles his 40 years of research. His new book, “The Quantum Bigfoot,” is due out in late 2016. Comments/Press Coverage This program received a lot of positive feedback and gratitude to the library for hosting the event. This program was geared to adults and next year if we do this program again it will be for all ages as a lot of parents were interested in bringing young children. Allen Family Foundation Grant via the Library Foundation Description Track: Leadership School & Public Library Collaborations School and public libraries serve the same kids and have overlapping goals and resources. Collaboration can often result in improved access for students and increased awareness of the range of resources and services available. Maurene also discusses a number of intriguing cases and summarizes the most prominent theories on what UFOs may entail. Pictured from left to right: Sue Matthews, Nancy Richards, Suzanne Hardesty and Barb Stone (all proudly wearing summer reading t-shirts). Melody attended and the residents shared with her how thankful they are the four volunteers and how much their twice monthly visits mean to them. The library is very fortunate to have such incredible Books on Wheels volunteers and staff support from Lynn Ring and Jon Kasper. Comments/Press Coverage City of Port Townsend Monthly Library Program Report 2016 2016 Program name: Art in the Library Opening Reception: Canoe Journeys on the Salish Sea Date: October 28 Presenter: Northwind Arts Center and the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe Program’s intended age group: Kids, teens, adults, all ages/family Adults Attendance: 100 Location: Library Sponsored by: Friends, other: please specify Friends, Northwind Arts Center Description CANOE JOURNEYS ON THE SALISH SEA A special exhibit of photography and objects, made possible by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe, Tribal Elder Celeste Dybeck and her husband Don, and Northwind Art Center’s Art in the Library Program. The City of Port Townsend and Northwind Arts Center have entered into an agreement to provide art for the Port Townsend Public Library. Art is provided by local artists and may be for sale via Northwind at the discretion of each artist. Shows are changed at 4-month intervals, and are launched with an opening reception at the library. The kids were excited about the titles and wanted to check out most of them. Kit left the books in the Blue Heron library for the students to check out after class.
