Mr., Floyd suggested that the. covenants attached to the adjacent hospital property be used as hi.s covenants also. Mr. Floyd- then read-the covenants arid- Dr. Lynn agreed r�M*th them. When asked what hype of building was planned, Dr. Lynn stated that while he had no plan drawn up as yeti he planned to build an attractive bui:L ng when the tine cane to leave, present location. Jim Campbe seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous. III. Application No. 283-01 DuJardl"n Development Co. Planned Unit Development p•0• Bax 530$ Everett, 11,1ae 98206 Mr. Repman explained that they proposed to build elderly housing located • at Ninth and 'Hancock StrE+ots which would be ?�0 units including same handicap una.ts. Vice-Ghairman Black stated that the size of the property needed to be • di s cus se d.b e f o re going any farther with review. Mr. F107d expl d that there was no provis3.on for a variance for a reduction in the size of the required amount of property in order to get a Planned Unit DeveloYment Permit. The C�.ty Attorney informed the commission of this. The only way to handle phis would be to have a change i*n the zoning ordinance. Mr. Repman said that the City of Edmonds made an excePtion for the e lderly f or ].and size because of density. Where a.s a need for elderly housir� in Port Townsend and this kind of housing is worth fighting foro Phoebe E. Harris said she needed a plane and knew. a lot more elderly that moved away because they could not find affordable housing. Mr. Floyd told public that this could not be Handled until or if the zoning ordinance were changed as it was clearly in violation of the zoning ordinance. Also if zoning ordinance were changed iaiou:Ld have to imri.te previous applicants back. Mr. Campbell stated that if the application was continued it would have to be to a date specific roughly July. After dicussi"M possible date to contiLnue,, J'im Campbell moved to continue public hearing on Junethe30, 198 39 and not hear fro¢n public until the ordinance problem has been taken care of first, Jim Tavernakis seconded the • motion and the vote was unanimous.
