Meeting of December 12, 1991
I. ROLL CALL
Chair Ron Losec.called the meeting to order at *03 p.m. Other members present were Lois
Sherwood, Karen Erickson, Cindy Thayer, Mark Welch and Bob,Rickard. Also present were
Dave Robison, planner, and Michael Hildt, Director of Planning & Building.
U. Planning Commission Retreat
The Planning Commission decided to hold a retreat January 18, 1992 to discuss their ideas and
priorities for 1992 in preparation of the City Council retreats in February,
II. OLD BUSINESS,:
A. Overview of Draft Environmentally Sensitive Areas Ordinance
Dave Robison gave an overview of what needs to be defined, categorized and mapped according
to the requirements of the Mate Growth Management Act, He said the City will have to look
at aquifer recharge areas, fish and wildlife habitat, frequently flooded areas, geologically
hazardous areas and wetlands and streams.
Mr. Robison went on to review the Draft Ordinance on environmentally sensitive areas. He also
discussed the necessary steps the City will take concerning critical areas over the nest three
years.
The Commission decided to Creak down into individuals or two-person teams working on
mastering one of the five categories of critical areas stated above. , Ron Losec, aquifer recharge
areas; Cindy Thayer, fish and wildlife habitat; Bob Rickard, frequently flooded areas; Mark
Welch, geologically hazardous areas; and Lois Sherwood and Karen Erickson, wetlands and
streams.

IV. ANNOUNCEMENTS

There will be a Planning Commission/City Council meeting Thursday, December 19, 7 p.m. at
the Community Center.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:01 p.m.
