Arterial Streets Amendment to Comprehensive Plan
L Staff Review (Sepler)
Mr. Sepler gave a brief description of how the arterial streets amendment came about. The
process included taking traffic counts, identifying corridors of potential future development, and -
incorporating community feedback. Mr. Sepler then explained that, given this information, the
City is noir contemplating an interim control ordinance. Specifically, the ordinance would
establish setbacks which preserve options for future road expansion.
Discussion followed on whether/how this plan would limit development. A distinction was
dawn between keeping options open, and setting strict prohibitions. Mr. Sepler emphasized the
perspective of keeping possibilities open. .
