AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND REPEALING
ORDINANCE 2902 ON POOL FEE5, AND PROVIDING FOR FEES BY
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, beginning January 1, 1995, the City agreed to take over the public
recreation program and management of the swimming pool, located at Mountain View
Elementary School and owned by the Port Townsend School District; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 2730 (passed December 20, 1999) set fees for Recreation and
Swim Programs; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 2902 (July 18, 2005) adopted new fees, to defray City costs, and
provided a 25% differential for Non-City residents whose taxes, unlike City residents, do not
support the swimming pool; and
WHEREAS, the City Council determines it appropriate to repeal Ordinance 2902 and
adopt fees by resolution,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend ordains as
follows:
Ordinance 2902 (passed July 18, 2005), and the fees set by Section 1 of Ordinance 2902 (copied
and below, and shown in strike out), are hereby repealed. Pool fees maybe established from
time to time by resolution of the City Council.
SECTION 2. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any
person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of
the provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected.

SECTION 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days
after the date of its publication in the manner provided by law.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular
meeting thereof, held this fourth day of February 2008.
