Topic Motions/Recommendation/Action
Approval of Minutes: July 1, 2015 The Minutes were unanimously approved.
The Commission reviewed the budget and found several discrepancies that needed to be resolved before further funds could be awarded.
Michael D’Alessandro spoke about the mission and future of the Arts to
Elders program.
The Commission took no action on the Arts to Elders
outstanding funding request. The matter will be revisited at the
next meeting when available funds are known.
Stan Rubin reported that the Northwind BLOOM funding application was not eligible for consideration.
Luisa Walmsley presented an application from Songwriting Works for four upcoming events. The Commission approved recommendation of the waiver of fees for the use of the Cotton Building on November 22nd. Stan
Rubin will discuss the fee waiver process with City staff. The matter will be revisited at the next meeting when available funds are known.
Kris Morris presented a draft of the Arts Commission funding
guidelines.
The Commission edited the guidelines to clarify that expenses
should be related to specific events and to provide a definition
of eligible events. Kris Morris will revise the document and Stan Rubin will present it to City Attorney Steve Gross for review.
